The first point I would like to mention, is size, this is not a post insisting that everyone should be a tiny waif of a person, that to me is not healthy, healthy to me, is about the way you feel with yourself, obviously if you are extremely over weight it would affect your health, and you would be the first to be concerned. It is as important that you are happy, and have healthy habits and eat healthy food. You do not have to be a gym junkie, a pleasant walk is sufficient to keep the blood circulating well and the heart pumping at a good healthy rate, we are not all made with the ability of working out in the gym, it’s great if you can, but it does not mean we are not healthy if we don’t, some like swimming, (excellent exercise) and can be done at your pace the same goes for a bicycle, static or not.

It is important what we eat, and I personally feel that eating  good healthy food and avoiding what is known as junk food, processed etc., we can maintain a good balance in the weight department as well as the health. Good natural food has all the nutrients we need, nothing is taken away, many under the pressure of time, will buy food  prepared, but with a little bit of organisation fresh food can also be prepared in a short time, and the benefits we are giving our body is tremendous. A well-balanced healthy meal plan is as easy to keep to as any other, when we are working towards a happier, more positive confident life, what we eat will show in us, are you tired, do you have dull skin, bad hair, nails , you see what we eat, will show in you !

So, we know that eating right will help you maintain a healthy weight, but your diet can have a profound effect on your moods and well-being. Junk food will give you a higher possibility of suffering depression, stress, bipolar,anxiety… Eating more fruit and vegetables, cooking at home, this may help to improve your mood and lower your risk regarding mental health problems.

If you wish to be successful in changing your eating pattern, you don’t have to eliminate all the foods you enjoy, to have a healthy diet and to make that difference to the way you think and feel.

I hope after reading the quote, you will see that my title today is not about being selfish, on the contrary, most of us tend to think that putting ourselves first is not the right thing to do, and in some cases you would be right,but we should not be forgotten either, this week has been all about us, our happiness, our positive outlook to the world and our life and of course being healthy in body and mind.

Leading a busy life, which we nearly all do these days, by being a wife/husband parenting working cleaner carer maintenance general etc., gives you NO EXCUSE, even to be a good Mum/Dad you need to be all of the things we have mentioned. And this is why we need to care for ourselves in every way in a loving and caring way.

If you were asked to describe yourself, how would you do it ?, what would you say? , how would you introduce yourself ? think about this and try to answer yourself , are you proud of yourself? And are you capable of saying NO, this simple little word can be one of the most difficult for us to say, and I admit there are a million reasons behind it. This is a prime example of how we do not care and maybe respect ourselves enough, we cannot take on the world, as much as we would love to, we all have limits which we should recognise and others should consider if we allow them to, you see we are at times the one that opens the door for people to walk all over us !

Do you ever ask or answer the question of how much do we love ourselves, we deserve the love we keep trying to give to everyone else…. have you ever thought about it in this way, how do you treat yourself, this will reflect on how you treat others..never confuse this with being kind, considerate caring for others, they are totally different things, I know that at times you will do something for someone else and think to yourself,” I would love someone to do that for me”,  this is not being bitter to your act of kindness, generally we all love doing things for others, but don’t forget yourself. Time can be a big problem here, thinking there is no time for you, so ok maybe you cannot have an hour in your bathroom or pop to the gym or relax in your favourite spot or with your favourite person, but love, the love you should feel for yourself is with you all the time, it is inside of us, it is our gift to ourselves, and should be a natural flow within  and nobody or no circumstances should take that away, or better said, we should not allow this, to be taken away………….We are here to be loved,but to also love ourselves, to feel proud and hold respect for ourselves.When you feel this love within you, you are happy healthier and look forward to everyday.

Do you feel worthy ? Do you love yourself ? Do you stand on your own two feet and feel every part of your worthy self some people will like you for many and no reasons and some will not, also for many reasons ……..so what’s the problem. 

You will at times need to run away from people you love, so that you can see your self-worth, you should never be with people who do not have the ability to see your self worth. Never confuse that because you love, they love, it does not work that way, but that does not EVER make you less, your self worth should never decrease due to the opinion of others. Never feel bad or apologise for the standards of others, if you have higher standards, maintain them, never lower them to fit in, let them rise to you, your principles count, they are you ! And if they wish to be part of your life, they must respect you for who you are.

Our self-worth is not measured by anyone, this is your privilege on how much you love and respect yourself, never chase, love affection or attention, if someone does not want to be with you, it is possible the other person isn’t worth having, depending the way you see yourself will tell you your worth and how you value yourself. How you feel about yourself comes from within, you can’t give it to anyone else and you can’t expect others to give it to you, at times it is not what you are that stops your progress, its many times what you think you are not.

 

We are all different and unique, I say this many times, you have to believe in yourself, remember you are beautiful, important, special, wonderful, talented and you are totally irreplaceable.

 We very often talk to ourselves, we have to be very careful with this, because, we are always listening and we should never tell ourselves anything that you don’t want to come true.

Self worth is vital to your happiness, to your health, if you do not feel good about you, it is going to be hard to feel good about anything else.

When we really understand how true the above quote is, we would never have another negative thought, not as our main thought, anyway, we are all human and it is impossible to not have a negative thought, but there is a big difference in thinking 24/7 in negative mode, as to the occasional thought ! 

It is also perfectly true the effect negativity has on our health, would you not want to attend to that health problem with a simple change of thought, and it is simple the same as any other habit you may have, infact if you try one positive thought a day, maybe in the morning when you start your day, it can change your whole day, try it, it is only down to you and no other other, nobody thinks for you, your thoughts belong to you. When you start your day this way, and will see how it changes your day it can eventually change your life, now, who would not want that, you are happier, you are also feeling healthy……your positive mind-set is becoming part of your life, the habit forms and it becomes automatic to you, your future is much more important than how you see your past, when you adopt a positive mind-set and attitude it gives you total power over your circumstances, instead of your circumstances having power over you, and that makes a big change, it’s great to be in control of your own life. positive thinking is a game changer, it gives you the ability to be free and do everything better than when you are tuned into your negative channel, you start to see life with a new set of eyes, positive thoughts evokes positive feelings and will attract positive situations and outcomes in your daiy life, it really is a breath of fresh air ! trying this is down to you, again you need no one else……just you and your thoughts and achieving an incredible change in how you see the world. When you become a positive thinker you see things that other don’t, you feel the intangable and reach the impossible, your goals whether they are personal or professional.

I love the story of the boat, it floats on water, that is what it is for, however if water gets inside it will sink and will no longer be any good as a boat, we are the same, if we allow negative thoughts into our mind we become blocked we are on over load and sometimes break, therfore we are then no functioning as we should, just like the boat. 

The mind is everything, we need to take care of it, we need to be healthy, what you think is what you become, this is proven fact…. NO ONE can choose your attitude, your perspective give you the power to be in control, this is your personal freedom.

Don’t give your time to things you can’t change, focus on what you can ! It’s your energy, your attitude, your mind-set.

Have you ever thought about how people can truly look beautiful when they smile, everyone favours a smile, when we are cross or life less it shows on our face (and many other places) but our face can tell someone so much about ourselves, when we smile, our eyes shine, happiness can be seen, false smiles don’t work, so don’t try that, they stand out a mile…….. even though you think you fool people, you really are only fooling yourself, and what do we get out of that nothing. Now there are many reason’s why we are not happy, but on the other hand there are many reason’s why we can be happy, we owe it to ourselves, when we are unhappy due to past events, we have to see that the past cannot be changed, but we can change, if we want to, I have said many times and yes I am going to say it again, we can accept (The Universal Law of Acceptance) again I repeat, this does not imply that we agree, we simply choose to accept it, by doing this you are allowing yourself to move forward, there is no reason why you cannot be happy, you have a right to be happy . When we accept the reason of our unhappiness and accept where we are in life and taking everything positive out of everyday, one of the greatest challenge we face in life is finding out and discovering who we are, and maybe the next step would be, to be happy with what we find. When we take note of other people’s opinions regarding us, don’t worry about this, don’t give it your time, if they don’t know you personally,don’t take it personally, you should never rely on other’s to make you happy, that is down to you and only you.

It takes courage to be yourself, to be happy is not always about getting what you want all the time, it’s all about seeing what you have, loving that fact and feeling grateful for all those things. Being happy also involves letting go of what is weighing you down, this does not mean that you don’t feel or lose your heart, you just become more intelligent, remember your happiness is yours, it’s in your hands, not anyone else……….no more, that time has gone !! If you feel alone and hope for a life partner, but are unhappy, don’t think you are going to be happy in a relationship, first you must get your own life on track find your own happiness, then you can share it, when people are not happy, they can lash out at others and will maybe not want you to be happy, they probably aren’t  happy for themselves either.

Happiness is a choice that we all have, which would you prefer, it really is not a difficult decision, who would not want to be happy, under all circumstances we can be happy with what we have at this moment . Happiness is within it is not a result of anything else, nothing will make you happy until you choose to be happy, NO person will make you happy, your happiness will not come to you. It comes from you. 

Think to yourself, every single time you have been up against it, convinced that you could not take anymore, not one more day, you could not go on……………..well you know you did, we all did.Because we have courage, against all odds and we know the importance of happiness in our life, that we are here, to bring it from within, when we are happy, the people we love and are close to us, feel that happiness and that makes them feel happy also. Happy does not mean we are exceptional human beings, bordering on perfect, far from it, we all make mistakes, but we are happy with who we are, with what we have, yes we have dreams, we all do, but until that time we are happy, if you are not happy now, having all your desires and goals will not bring you happiness, more comfort or less stress, does not guarantee happiness, that is down to you…… Never compare yourself to others, we are all unique and want and offer different things to this world and our life, don’t let someone else drowning in drama take you of your track, you can help, but don’t let it spoil your progress or joy, everyone finds their own happiness you cannot give it to someone else, that is their decision and only they know when they wish for that change. 

Every love story is beautiful, but yours with yourself should be your most favourite…..
