MY SPECIAL DELIVERY……………………….

What a special day this is for me, what a special delivery I am going to receive, it is one of the most important  people in my life, a very special little person, the man I dream with at night…………………and hold his little heart forever, my special summer treat starts today and I hope his also !!

I did receive a beautiful message yesterday that he recorded and sent to me on my phone, to tell me how much he loved me and could not wait to arrive…………………he will be with me for 15 wonderful days, which I know will fly by,the time with my grandson is precious, so precious… last year I made a list of all the activities we could do and places to visit, each day was a different thing including arts and crafts , I still have pretty little things he made for me and some of his first artistic works……..they are just so great to be around and so creative, he has an imagination that never ends………….

He actually does not call me Grandma, he calls me Mani and always has, he never stops talking and asking questions, everything you do or he sees, he is inquisitive as to how ,what, and  where it works or goes…… his mind is open 24/7 to information, information I might add he remembers, he remembers everything, he likes to know how things work and why, and he enjoys to build, Lego and play mobile are high on his play list, he is just starting to read, and in September will start his first official school year, he also loves to do puzzles, this is a new thing I tried him on during the easter holiday, and he really seems to enjoy doing them, he remembered corners and sides first  !!

Nobody or nothing prepares you for being a grandmother, anymore than it does when you become a Mother, but both experiences although extremely different are probably the best there is in life, the experience is second to none, and when you try to explain your experience and feelings you may well be lost for words, I am , on a very frequent basis, you just think there is no more room left in that heart for more love, but it keeps giving and keeps receiving and is a fantastic feeling, these little people bring so much light into your life.

If the above is true, this is the best promotion I have ever had, to see my little man learn something each day, to see his happiness and joy and to feel his unconditional love has no price, there is nothing that can compare, I sadden at times to see him grow, (although extremely proud in other ways) it would be wonderful to just stop life right here and now, they can talk and interact with you, they are just adorable, I remember my own boys being this way, there are still adorable to me, but as Mothers we all have a moment when you just want to stay in one period forever !!

My  little man tells me this, but after the moon and back he adds the universe ! he is so sweet, and I adore him, so, as I intend to enjoy my time with him over the coming two weeks ,  I hope, that should I miss a post one day, you will forgive me, it will be due to excess fun with the love of my life………………………

A MOTHER & STRESS………………………..

Are you a stressed mother ?, Do you lose your patience quickly ?, Are you on the limit and feel guilty over everything ?…………You first have to realise that you are not perfect (and do not have to be) and your children are not either, here a few little bits of advice on trying to educate without stress and not to let anxiety take over…………..

Life does not have to be so complicated, so why at times educating children can be a real nightmare. We try to educate with love and care within the limits we like to apply, 

We should not allow that success at school becomes an obsession, both you and the child will feel pressure and an emotional over load, focus should not be given only to the bad notes they may receive, focus on the good ones, this will help their self-esteem much more, and keep them more on the road to their personal success. When you only concentrate on the negative you will eventually just emotionally drown them.

You need to place realistic goals that fit well with their age and personality , most teenagers only have an attention barrier of 45 mins, and if they are between 8 & 12 maybe no more than 30 mins, once passed this time their interest and concentration drops, go more for quality time because this is the time that will pay of and they can stand to win a lot. 

The strength and determination are key, and this has the same importance in games, sports and general education, their happiness lies in  how hard it is for them to be on top of all this, once they reach this life becomes easier for them.

Not all children are the same, and for that reason they all learn at different rates , some have great visual memories  and others audiative, if they are in the first group reading will be a great thing for them, if they belong in the second group they will listen eagerly in class and will repeat, their strong points will override their weaker ones. 

The importance of keeping your word, if you threaten to impose something for bad behaviour , is very important. Maintain your position although it may hurt you more than them, it is an important part of their maturity is to know you will maintain your word,don’t threaten the impossible here, you have to make sure that what you threaten is possible and do it. You know more than anyone what should be denied and what will have most effect on the children.

The ability to negotiate with a diplomatic flare will get you out of many situations with children, A reward will always create motivation which goes with responsibility , it is a good way to introduce them into household jobs.

It is always a good idea to relax the rules and regulations during the week-end and holidays, it is something that usually is always appreciated by everyone.

Dont ever let your differences enter into your bedroom, this is your space, each family member should have their own space. 

Try to keep your children away from internet, this is a difficult one,it is a little like them being let loose in a big city , they need your help, although they will not realise this, try to accompany them when they are on the net. 

If your child seems bored or plays alone, dont be to concerned when they play alone it can be a great help for their imagination and well-being.

Dont always think that they are “cracks” at everything, sports, a foreign language theater piano etc., it can be too much for them, they also need to rest and know how to administrate their time, most experts will advise you that time spent with parents is time well spent and not always in extra classes. 

If you are a great reader and would like your child to also love reading, do not be upset when they mix the classics with comics and magazines. Just keep some time for them for reading and comment on what you have read, even the newspaper. 

Children are known for what they see is what they do and learn, you know the saying ” go by example” if they see you happy with a book, or at a concert etc., they will probably what to do the same. This does not mean that every time you go out you have to be a travel guide or take excursions, there is time for everything.

It is good for children to be given their independence slowly and let them get to know what freedom is, this way as they get older, they will make the moving process a gentle pathway, and will not run at the first given opportunity. 

Never question or answer for them as they grow, wait with patience for them to offer that question or answer, let them know you are open to discuss things with them, that there is no tabu subject, that you are there for them, regardless of the subject.

August, particularly here in Europe can be the great month of holidays, and maybe the most time you have spent with your loved one in quite a while, so for many of you, I wish you luck, no seriously on a better note, it is important that you all remember that life at times can get in the way of a lovely loving relationship, life has its ups and downs and work stress can get in the way, so is your cupid still working for you ? is your relationship still ticking along just as you would want it to, there are basically seven keys to keep love in good shape, just keep it activated and those muscles working, every last one of them,

Complicity, be thankful for this as it duplicates the capacity of facing difficulties……it is so important that the person you share your life with our your biggest complices in life, if not you really need to rethink  your situation. Complicity implicates true confidence one for the other, which is an essential base for the relationship to last, it is also what gives strength when handling difficult situations , you know the saying togetherness gives strength.

Five little keys to keep this activated is………..

Try to do activities together, you may not be used to doing this, so just start with small things, a hobby, this is always best before taking on bigger projects. Always try to respect and give support to your partner when in the company of others, even though you may not feel that way, you can split the differences when you are at home and hold a private conversation on this. never discuss differences in front of your family or friends, you will not always be of the same way of thinking, it is always best for both of you to reach an agreement together and in private. 

Humour, to smile and to laugh is not compatible with being angry, frustrated and having fear, one of the great advantages of smiling and laughing, to be happy in general is that we generate endorphins which is a very natural way to feel good and enjoy yourself. This helps the relationship to be healthy and again lasting. This does not apply to you being a clown 24/7 it just means you have a general good disposition, you are yourself and don’t take yourself so seriously all the time, humour is something  that helps us relax and does away with tension after a long hard day, it is very important that in a relationship you do not fall into the trap of taking out your daily frustrations on your partner, happy faces happy times, obviously you can discuss your distinct day and problems but always remember it is not the fault of your partner.

Learn to laugh at your mistakes and errors, this will always project a positive attitude to your partner. If you’re not happy about something, you can always express yourself with a smile, it is not necessary to always be angry over something, when someone is angry it can be interpretrated as an attack, and the other partner may respond defending themselves and with the same anger, this is not a good way to successful dialogue. Humour is also a great way to keep monotony away from a relationship, a little surprise can always be given by little notes left in a jacket or on a serviette, being together and doing fun things as a couple, a good partnership , try to return home with a smile and caring nature. 

Your own space is also important, this is not a contradiction from the above, doing things together is one thing, but always remember that we are all different with our own likes and dislikes and it is important that we always remain who we are, are true essence. To be dependent is a fundamental word, how many people do you know that live as clones of their partner, that abandon everything friends, family and hobbies all for the other person. When you maintain your own friends hobbies , you generate a world of your own that helps you to be your own person within the relationship. Create a space for yourself, cultivate your interests and take care of your family and friends, this will give you strength and the ability to make decisions, by doing this you will always feel that your partner is in your life, but is not your life! Do activities that you enjoy, it does not matter the result it is the point of enjoyment. Always look to nature, take a nice walk, it helps you to place things in your mind and recharge those batteries. Care for yourself, when you connect with your inside, your relationship becomes more sure and kind., and never forget when you are independent you have balance .

Sex, can be an important part of your relationship, there are things that can be expressed and shares from and with desire. There are times when our emotional communication can not be said with words or actions, at times there are things that are better expressed through body contact. You should always consider the sexual needs of the other person without judgement, and reach an agreement, which is satisfactory to both parties, it is important that there is a flow and that no blocks are found within the couple, as they will be felt if you don’t deal with your differences. always try to incorporate hugs and touch into your regular relationship, Everything between two people is respect one for the other , to trust and to be loved.

Support, is all part of the partnership, part of respect and not to feel any obligations  or  judgement, It is necessary in a relationship that each one can rely on the other, that support is always available, to obtain this you must be attentive and see what is needed, always be open and explain the problem at hand…….. look for agreements that you both feel are good for practical problems, never use emotional blackmail, this is a lack of respect , value your partner in good times and bad, do not let jealousy enter into your relationship, the person you feel jealous over, will not suffer it is you, that will suffer most,jealousy is a very destructive thing and will ruin your relationship.

Well, here we are already in August, it really is unbelievable where time goes it never fails to amaze me, how quickly one year becomes the next, however in all this passing of time, we must never forget ourselves, we deserve so much and actually give ourselves very little, well, the vast majority of us ! we have another things on our mind and we tend to slip further and further down the to do list………..be honest I am right, we are going to be back in September again very soon and for a lot of us, this incorporates an entirely different routine in our home and work life, the annual holiday is over and the next big one is Christmas, which we be here sooner than you think, our children if still young will be back at school,and our general routine get turned around, times change and the light starts to fail and the weather also starts to change, which after the very high temperatures this year, a lot of us will be eagerly awaiting those autumn days…………….with all these changes around us it is also a great time for us to start our personal “self-care period” if you fit it into your new timetable right from the start it is not a problem and it certainly is not impossible this is the big mistake we make, when wishing to apply something new in our life, we automatically state it is impossible, nothing is impossible , nothing, we just need to shuffle a few things around, and each new stage in our life is not only adding things we also drop things until the next season , allowing us to fit in new things………………this blog post also applies to men and not only women, it is great how men are now far more conscious of their looks and bodies than ever before

Make yourself new promises, your own renewal plan, we not only exfoliate in the summer time, when we exfoliate we not only notice the effect on the outside, great glowing skin (at any age) instead of that dull half dead look, the feel is also much softer and not rough and dry, the inner benefit is also good as we are regenerating on a cellular level, which is essential to have a healthy skin, good to look at and to touch. Put this into your shower schedule one or two times a week, your body will really appreciate it. 

Cover yourself…….this does not mean from head to toe, making you invisible, now we are referring to cream, keep the skin well fed  and use a  moisturizer, this will not allow any dry white little bits to be shed when we change clothes, there should be no dead drops to fall, who wants the dead skin ? Creams can be better for your skin for this job, as oils tend to make a barrier which does not allow the oil to penetrate into the skin as needed. after a shower or bathing, so bath/shower cream is usually better than bath/shower oil. 

It has been proven that 75/85% of skin diseases are of physiological origin !This is due to the brain and our skin sharing certain embrionario and some neurotransmitters, stress and unfortunate incidents can cause the sending of incorrect messages, negative messages , a secretion of substances that attack the skin and can cause ageing , which is known as emotional ageing……so now you know if you want young-looking skin you need to relax.

Don’t forget those beautiful locks, at least once a week apply a hair mask, if you have long hair a simple shampoo is not enough, apart from the cleaning of the hair it will need treatment, so choose well what suits your type, colour volume of hair etc., and leave it on the correct amount of time required, the longer the better. 

Learn how to enjoy your own spa, maybe a sunday afternoon treat, bath salts, perfumed candles essential oils, there is so much on the market today to give fabulous potential to bathing time, a little music chill out, dedicate this time to yourself and let your senses free, a lovely warm bath should last at least 20 mins, you can even do this last thing before you go to bed, you will sleep wonderful and be truly ready to face your new day ahead. 

Lips are also an important thing to take into account, especially as the weather starts to change, a lipstick is not sufficient to protect them also, especially the new 24 hour lipstick, they do a great job but do tend to dry your lips, so special care needs to be taken here, use a good balsam or special creams, rich in vitamin E and karite.

And we must never forget the last job of the evening, remove all make up, use the milk and tonic  specially for this , and your type of skin, if you wear make up or not you still need to cleanse the skin well before going to sleep, your skin needs this to enable it to oxygenate in the correct way, it needs to breath and free itself of toxins and the general dirt that is within the air. They advise you forget about wet one’s and keep to the special three-step routine, clean tonic hydrate.

Don’t go out with just a clean washed face, you will feel much better and more confident within yourself, if you leave with a great face each morning….give yourself a little colour in the cheeks, or a little colour on your eyes or simply let your lashes speak for you, it takes seconds to give that totally different look to your face, a small study also showed that women wearing a little make up are happier !

Let’s just pop back to hair, if you colour your hair, or have highlights etc., you will need to touch them up at least every month and a half, try not to let this time pass as it is a very important part of you and surrounds your whole face !

Most important , Breakfast………like a Queen or King…..no fatty food, no sugar filled pastries and no sugary drinks, start the day with a good breakfast but a healthy one, eat what will give you energy for the start of the day, but also the nutrients you need, a healthy tea that will drain, tonic and purify, protein, boiled ham,cheese eggs…and a good dose of glucose, such as natural juice or a piece of fruit. 

Dental care is also important, to clean your teeth three times a day is perfect but if that is not possible, keep a little kit in your bag, that will keep your teeth and mouth fresh.

Try to keep a steady weight, at times a steady weight is more important that the perfect weight, in accordance with your height and age and build. A good balanced diet, should include antioxidants, vitamin C,D fruit and vegetables.

General exercise is a good point also, we have mentioned this many times, it helps to make our bones stronger and tones the muscles, helps to reduce high blood pressure, activates the circulation, it even keeps us in a good mood ! a little of any sport, even a walk is a win win situation. 

Sleep another top of the list, minimum 7 hours, get into a routine and keep to it, you need it and your body will love for it, try to go to sleep and wake at the same time, this is so important, as it puts all your senses into action at the same time, and it is also the best beauty therapy there is .

The hands, the magic of your hands, do you know how much your hands tell the world about you, you should at least have a good manicure, whether you do it yourself or you go to a salon each month, it is important to also keep them well hydrated and soft.

Do you suffer from any kind of breathing problem or asthma,COPD..every year the figure of people suffering from this type of illness, allergy and general discomfort escalates and it is thought that by 2025, there will be more than 100 million people throughout the world suffering from this type of problem. So, why is it on the increase, the main suspected culprit it is the ambience around us, and more so determined substances found in this space…. but there are other  circumstances related to this kind of illness. 

Experts do say that over weight can be a problem and do bring certain concerns which come with  risk to breathing problems, it is known that when weight is lost in many cases the symptoms improve, when people are over weight the body will give out a substance,” adipocinas “, which will affect the lung, which will favor the development of asthma, so it is always recommended that any one who suffers from this type of problem, should try to keep within a healthy weight range. A mediterranean diet is high recommended as this will give a certain protection against asthma and allergies in general, one of the reasons being the high content of Vitamin E and magnesium found in this type of diet,

It is a proven fact that , pollution, cigarette smoke and certain chemical agents do favour the start of asthma and can make existing asthma worse. It has also been proven that living within a city can increase the risk of asthma and allergies. However a rural life does not exclude us from asthma, as certain farms and farm land use toxins and contaminants that can create episodes of asthma. So, what can we do, we can try to work in the best healthy atmosphere possible, and don’t forget to protect your home, dust, damp certain animal hair can increase the possibilities of asthma, it is also recommended to take a few days in the country when ever possible, in the city try to keep your home windows closed at night, car windows up when driving and put filters on your AC units in the car and home, it is also thought that alcohol in moderation, no more than six units a week, can help.

Asthma is not, just a child thing ? Many people start to suffer from this later in life, something will trigger it of, particularly in urban areas…another reason seems to be via personal hygiene, as we are so protected as children, are immune system is not prepared to handle certain toxins  and bacteria….
