I hope you are all well and prepared to welcome the Autumn (the Spring for others) I love this time of the year, however here in Spain it is still brightly shinning a full 33 degrees, which is hot and particularly for this time of the year, it is usually still warm but not so high, we did have a week of rain and naturally the temperature dropped a little, but it has shot right back to where it was, this year has been exceptionally hot so we are hoping it is not a sign of exceptionally cold in the winter as it can work that way, well I suppose we will have to wait for that, to be revealed, but, in the mean time have a great time and enjoy whatever you have got !! as long as you are well and happy the hot or cold can take care of it’s self………….lol to you all

Did you know, that while we pamper ourselves under the shower we could be doing more harm than good, this is what I have recently found out !

We should not spend more than 10 mins., in the shower even though we are really happy and enjoying the experience, 10 mins., is more than enough for a complete hygiene, 5 mins., is sufficient for the skin to take in the necessary humidity it needs.

Don’t be taken in by the fabulous warm temperatures, this will only produce a weakness in your skin and invite saggy skin to appear, our skin contains fat protectors (lipids) which avoid germs and protect us from the cold, these can vanish with the continual use of  very hot water. It is better to use warm water to avoid the skin from becoming to dry.

Don’t over do the great gel and shampoo we can buy today, to think we have a better result if we apply more, we do not become even cleaner, in fact the more we use the more long-term damage we do to our skin.

It is also recommended that a not to perfumed gel is used, they may be extremely pleasant to smell and use, but you are at a very high risk to suffer from allergies due to the high content of components used.

Believe it or not, it is also mentioned not to shower more than once a day, in fact some experts say that three times a week is sufficient, whatever your choice always use lotion after every shower.

Don’t go forgetting that wonderful back of yours, there are all kinds of brushes and sponges available today that help us reaching those difficult points, this way we are not allowing fat to accumulate in certain areas. 

Most of us take on the job of washing our hair in the shower and it is important to also remember the quantity we need to wash our hair, it is said that a nice nut size little ball is enough and to dot it around the head and then mix into hair, it is also suggested that this is only necessary once and then apply the conditioner, the quality of most products make it only necessary to be used once per shower.

Try to leave the skin slightly humid, by tapping it dry with a soft towel,apply the body lotion of your choice this will help the skin to retain the water you need. 

It is advisable to use your hands when showering, if you need to use a sponge, make sure it is a soft sponge that will not irritate the skin, later keep it in a dry place, to avoid any kind of bacteria.

One of the best known therapies, that can be done perfectly well in your home as well as the spa, is what is known as the Scottish Shower,all you need is a shower and a shower head that can be taken down and handled by you, you need to spray your legs from the thigh to the ankle with warm water and then repeat the same on both legs with cold water, one minute of both is all that is necessary, this is excellent for tired and swollen legs, this will rest your legs and rid them of toxins, it will release muscle tension and help with circulation, this can all be achieved at the same time. You will find that once you have showered and finished this way, all your tension and stress will fade away.

CLUTTER

The Law of Attraction states that we should not be around around or within clutter, the air should flow and accordingly we should be going with that flow, you need to have around you only the things that are useful to you and that make your surroundings a more beautiful place to be, when you are surrounded by cluttler you are blocking your pathways, your direction in life is being disturbed, now what you may never have thought about is your mind, do you regularly de- clutter your mind just like you do your home?

We need to de-clutter our minds in just the same way, piece by piece what does not serve us, should be gone and allow room for new thoughts and innovations to enter, when you hold yourself back with old beliefs, bad habits, bad relationships all the things that you don’t need in any positive way, they are all blocking your clarity and ability to move forward, there presence continually in your mind forces you to focus on them, therefore just bringing more of the same into your life, clear them out, give them a push in the right direction and clear your pathways, allow yourself to succeed where you wish and to develop the life and style you wish for. You will not be able to concentrate on new things if allyour channels are blocked, even learning new things will be difficult for you, you need to have a clear road and a clear view…….make it a priority, de-clutter yourself and not just your home.

MORNING ENERGY RITUAL

It’s official September is here, and everything starts to change, our surroundings, our routines and even us, so we need to do our part and keep those autumn/winter aches and pains at bay, and our attitude strong to get us through the day, how we wake and if we have good early habits,all help…….

The best way to rise and shine is in a relaxed manner, I realize many of us cannot have that luxury, however if you wake naturally before the alarm clock beats you to it, you have rested sufficiently, you have slept the hours you needed to, a little trick with the alarm to get your body into full energy level is to let it ring only once, and leave your bed, wanting to!! When we give ourselves extra time in bed, it can be a sign of lack of sleep, due to alcohol a late dinner habits that can be changed and are stopping you from having a good nights sleep, you need to know how long you need to sleep and see to it that you get that sleep.

If you feel sleepy and tired when you wake, you could be sleeping in a bad posture, one of the best movements you can do when you wake is to move your jaw, roll your shoulders, if you notice you are a little stiff and have joint pain. The best position to sleep is on your left side, with your legs slightly flexed towards your chest, lift higher a little your left shoulder as to not have your full weight completely on it.

Don’t jump out of bed, take it slow and allow your muscles to get in step bit by bit, you have to indicate to your body to prepare it for your daily activities, the light of day also helps us to start our day, it’s always advisable to allow a little natural light into your room, to obtain energy for the day, of course it is necessary to have breakfast, first it allows our interior clock to activate and it gives us energy to get through part of the day, even if it only a little, and complete the breakfast, hopefully before 10 in the morning, you and your body need this, don’t think of the calories, you have all day to work it of and you need to fuel your body, you can’t run a car without petrol and we are exactly the same, aches,pains and headaches even migrains can be due to a lack of food, make sure your supply is sufficient for your daily activities.

Remember self care, the more you care for your body the more your body will care for you, also remember that your thoughts can create your state of positivity, keep positive at all times.
