Well, it looks as if the fall has finally arrived, there is a definite change in the weather this morning, there is a little nip in the air and that beautiful clear blue of yesterday has given way to a dove grey, which is blocking the bright light we are used to here in Spain, there is a slight breeze and the colours are changing, giving way to the wonderful colours of autumn, where ever you look it is still beautiful , but, the change in the air is finally being noticed.
I have my reading lights on, and its only lunch time, this is so unusual for here, the fire is not lite yet, but my fabulous coffee is near by and I have added a little candle light, which I always enjoy, it just adds a lovely warm glow, and gives a lovely inviting setting, especially for a Sunday, warm coffee, good book and the atmosphere that warms us through.
I also notice that at this time of the year we start to enjoy different food, we tend to go for more soups, which I love to make myself and pots of homemade stews and goulash type dishes, so filling and satisfying, it is a time of year to be enjoyed in many ways, it is hard to believe it was 28 degrees yesterday, but it had to change at some point and that usually does happen in October, although we will still have many sunny days ahead.
I have just heard a little thunder in the distance, so maybe we are going to have a little rain, which is way overdue, the worst scenario is that we have too much, which is being the case very often lately in other regions of Spain, you may have seen the recent disaster areas in Mallorca, lets hope we just get enough for the land and water supply in general. I have a little baby wild boar living outside of my gate, when there is a shortage of water in the mountains (which I have behind me) the families come down searching for water, and this little fellow seems to have been left behind, I’m hoping his mummy is going to come back for him, before he lands on a kitchen table some where, the hunting season has recently started, I heard them shooting in the early hours this morning. The rain has started to fall quite heavily at the moment, so I will let you know if things get out of hand…………… the storm seems to be right above me, lets hope it passes soon.
Time for more coffee, have a lovely sunday where ever you may be, relax and try to enjoy what nature has to offer you today……..
