THE BEAUTY OF AGEING …….
Do you worry about ageing? Or is it something you think you are far too young to concern yourself with that, as it is so far away? Well, maybe you need a little shock therapy because it just creeps up on you and there you are, a full-blown mature adult, especially once you have children in your life, time flies by……. However, not all is dismay ……..ageing can be a pretty incredible thing, it is all down to how you look at it, and of course how you feel….. one of the great things we achieve through age is our strength, we grow into such strong human beings which comes with many privileges, strength to face the life we are living or have in front of us, strength to face situations and circumstances we never associate with ourselves as younger people and of course strength to take on our newfound responsibilities, now some of these we tend to extend ourselves and keep them going well over their actual expiry date, but that is how we are individually made, as long as we remember that whatever we do or go through in our life is because we allow it to, and this we tend to overlook when it suits us, everything is a choice, we allow it or we don’t !!!
We gain experience that only by living we achieve, we were not born with it, one thing is being sensible, but experience comes from that day to day living in varied situations and encounters and nothing else can give us that unless we age, which we should enjoy, there are so many people that feel age is the final curtain and just give up, why would you do that, when the best is yet to come…don’t ever doubt that, embrace each step as you go, because everyone is as exciting as the last, but in different ways and variations, you will change your hobbies maybe, maybe not, your outlook on life and your interests, but you can still be curious for whatever you want, age is merely a number, and life is to be enjoyed no matter what number is showing!!
So many of us fight the lines and wrinkles of time, when in fact they should be worn with pride, it is true that they are memories and nothing can replace them, so why are we so eager to always fight ageing…. so many don’t make it this far, the journey ends far too soon, so this alone should make us happy and grateful for what we have and enjoy. We have an insight into life that others have yet to acquire, again this is credited to the life we are living and lived to date, a younger you would not have that insight……you wouldn’t have missed but you don’t have it, there are many things that we don’t miss at the time, but it is a great plus when you have those insights into things and life, the famous saying of “If I only knew then, what I know now” believe me that is true…. you have an inner confidence that shows, it assures you of what you are doing and how to act within your life, you can be born with confidence, but a lifetime of confidence is very different….and it shows in your approach to living your life on your terms, you understand people better and that includes yourself, you have a newfound understanding on many subjects and this brings harmony and balance into your life when you understand yourself, you accept your surroundings and situations in a better way, accepting is a form of sharing, you may not agree with the subject at hand, but when we accept and understand that we are all different in every sense of the word, our lives become less complicated on every level, accept yourself for who you are, be who you are and know what you want and what you don’t…………but, above all be happy, take each day as it comes, one step at a time, enjoy each stage of your life and embrace it all the way….love your age, love the process and love yourself….

All saints traditional fair, 30th October – 01st November ????. (Covid ban lifted, celebrating for the first time in two years!!)
This traditional fair is in a town, quite close to me this weekend !
It is a town named Concentaina, which has been hosting this wonderful grand fair which dates back to 1346, Concentaina has a population of 12.000 people, the fair originated in the middle ages, and has been documented since 1346, when permission was granted by Pedro II & IV de Aragon, this was from that date known as a privilege “Previlegio de la Feria” .
During 1671 till 1795 the fair suffered various date changes, but since 1795 it is always celebrated including the date 1st November, the day of National Fiesta All Saints, a day to pay respect to the people we have lost and are no longer with us, all the cemeteries in Spain have the most spectacular flower and plant arrangements.
The fair will officially commence at 10.30 a.m. with the act of the Mayor declaring the fair officially open, The official program offers many spectacular events, one of the main one’s being the equestrian Show, displaying beautiful horses from throughout Spain, displaying there skills.Apart from the main fair there is an excellent commercial presence of Automobiles, agricultural machinery and live stock.There are approx., 200 different events including dance, theater, circus acts, music, birds of prey etc.,
They expect to receive 400.000 visitors, with over 800 different stalls and attractions of exhibitors. (A wonderful opportunity to lauch a new business as people travel from all over Spain to this event) Here are some older pictures of the fair:-





As you can see these pictures are pretty old, and things have changed in a big way ! The fair now covers 110.000 sqm ………..

The fair also hosts, A Medieval Market, Jewish quarters and food and an Arabian Zoco, all draped in typical fabrics and tradition. You can find all traditional food known to the area, cheese, cafe liquor , cold meats ,dried fruits, and much more, the rest of Spain is also present with the stalls of Spanish exhibitors from all over the Spanish mainland, this area of the province of Alicante is well-known for the textile industry.
As many visitors make the weekend of it, they also visit, The Palace of Condal, Museo Arqueologico & Etnologico, Casa Museo de Fiestas de Moros & Cristians. They can also visit the Natural Park Sierra de Mariola or the Natural Park Font Rocha. And of course there are many restaurants in the surrounding villages and mountains.

When we set goals, we sometimes feel that the quicker we go the better and quicker we get there,this is not the case, when we learn to slow down in various aspects of our life’s it is better for us,your happiness and the out come you are looking for.
The world that we live in today, is a busy busy place, we race continually against the clock, most women today work, so they spin more plates than ever, and the vast majority of people take on far more than they can chew, or be requested to do. At the end of all this we end up with weight gain, bad sleep and we think very little of ourselves and our minds are racing everywhere except for where we should be giving our concentration.

A simple conversation, can be a good point to start, when we have a busy life, we tend to avoid conversations that we really don’t want to have, whether it be personal and emotional we selve it as much as possible, which at times creates a bigger problem than the original one, emotion does not go away it grows inside and can be shown in different ways at different points in our life, in anger, addiction’s of all kinds even in what we eat, and can make us very ill. When you feel you need to have a conversation with someone about something that is bothering you, do it……. take the time, to have a conversation, in the true sense of the word, not rushed, not with anger, a slow paused normal conversation.
Eating, how many of us do a continual diet, eating slowly can actually help you lose kilos, and most of us think more about what we are eating and the calories in question, but the form we eat also play’s a big part, when we eat, our brain normally will tell us when we are full, if we rush our food, this does not happen in the same way. It actually takes about 20 mins for the message to reach you and tell you “hello i’m full” so if we sit correctly and eat and enjoy our meal times this time is comfortable covered, when you rush you will overeat and your digestion system will also suffer, most people don’t even taste there food and have the full benefit of what they could be enjoying,if we savour each mouthful and chew correctly for sure your relationship with food will improve and you will probably lose kilos instead of putting more on.

The workplace, we all have the same complaint, we just don’t have time to cover everything, this is where my great ” lists ” come into play, most of our work will be a repeat performance of the previous day, so there are certain tasks that are done day in day out, the most important tasks should go on the list, the rest we almost do on autopilot, if we guide ourselves with the list, we have order, we start with a structured day and this is how we should manage our working day, you will find with this method, our time is sufficient and we are more relaxed knowing what we are doing and where we are going, without structure we tend to be like a chicken without a head. If on the other hand even with this we struggle, you need to talk to your superiors and explain your situation, always be sure of your priorities,
The simple act of breathing, you would be amazed how many people do not breath or know how to breath correctly. Once you know, your stress levels will reduce and your blood pressure as well, slow deep breathing helps slow the heart rate and reduces your anxiety levels, when you start to panic or are against the clock, take several deep breaths, sit up straight and breath in through your nose and out through your mouth, this will calm you and enable you to carry on with your tasks at the correct rate.

Exercise time, yes we even rush in the gym, this does not give us bigger muscles flatter tummy’s,bigger,better everything, quite the opposite, we can actually do ourselves harm and injure yourself, you need to position correctly and use the correct technique and this takes time, time to learn and time to enjoy and time to work out in the correct way.
What we need to learn from this, is that we can do everything we wish but in the correct way and with the time it needs, we need to enjoy what we do on a daily basis, whether it be work or play and most importantly that by taking the time we can achieve the result that we want, and feel happy and much more heathly.

Here we are again, another day of I hope, interesting little tips for you and your health..When suffering from low blood pressure it is not wise to raise rapidly or jump from your bed in the morning, this can leave you very light-headed, dizzy, weak in general and tiredness. The best advice is the absolute opposite to those you suffer from high blood pressure, eat food that is high in salt like olives,anchovy,ham etc., It will help by taking Vitamin C tablet type added to water give the best effect.
Do not mix certain foods with medication, they can result in an adverse affect, for example you should not mix licorice or grapefruit juice with any treatment for hypertension or anticoagulant with brussels sprouts !
A great remedy for a sore throat can be to gargle with one liter of water and half a soup spoon of salt, or bicarbonate of soda.

How to relieve a nasty burn, the first thing you should try to do is cool down the area concerned, this will help in reducing the damage that can be done to the skin, the easiest form is to place the burn under cold water for 5/10 mins, also it is advisable to place a wet cloth over the area with a mixture of water and vinegar.
To alleviate a blocked and stuffy nose, which usually comes with a cold or the flu, it is always advisable to drink quantities of warm liquids which will help to eliminate the blockage. Try making warm drink of onion, garlic,laurel leaves and eucalyptus and sweeten with a little honey. Apart from helping with your nasal blockage it will also help you to breathe better, it will help with the cough and sore throat.
