“Everything, music is very important to me, I love all types of music it brings back memories,as a child I played the piano, which I don’t think you ever forget, you just need to practice, music can lift you up and also can be very emotional, a good cry listening to a great piece of music, can do you the world of good !”

“This has to be my Aunt, she was crazy about music, she played music all day everyday…she loved Roy Orbison, Gene Pitney music of the early 60’s years, you name it she had it…and she sang and danced I remember this as a child”

“This is a difficult one to remember, I still have my albums, all of them..Maybe one of the first could of been a Motown album….”

Hope you enjoyWell, my friends, here I am again, I have this time been nominated for this challenge from a fabulous blogger Raili over at soulgifts.com.au, great writer, poetry,photograpy even fabulous recipes pop over and see for yourself. As you may know the last 3 day quote challenge I did, I concentrated on Dale Carnegie, I had a great time and I hope you did also. 

This time I am going with a female that fascinates me, the great Coco Chanel, Fashion icon always to be remembered. 

She was certainly a strong woman, born in Samur France and known as Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel in the year 1883. She came from nothing and built an empire that we all know. Coco Chanel was an orphan, and carried many problems from her childhood into her adult life, however she did learn how to sew in the orphanage and this is where her passion started, she never gve up on her dreams !! And in 1910 she opened her first shop in Paris, selling hats. She later opened stores in Deauville and Biarritz and started to make her clothes.

OPPORTUNITY – How many opportunities do you think you may have missed ? And how many opportunities did you see, but you let the train leave the station without you ! and have regretted. The big question here is, Do you know the reason why ? We all make excuses, over the why, I say excuses, because if we maybe reflect on that decision now, and we were honest…. we would see all the holes in our reasoning, they can range from, the children were young, the timing was just not right, it was not financially possible, we would of had to leave our families, the distance was to far, and I could go on and on. You see we all really use the same familiar excuses, where the real answer could of been , we were afraid ! lacked courage and confidence in oursleves, family pressure was to much, would not take the risk. Opportunity does not come to us everyday, I am not saying it will not appear again, it may, but you have to know now that if it does, are you ready to take action ? If you are still waiting for your first or maybe second opportunity, you have to be in control, ready and be in the mind set. You have to have it clear that the decisions you would make, would be yours, not that of your family (I am referring here to parents etc.,) of course your new immediate family would be part of your decision making counsel. There is no opportunity without risk, nobody can guarantee you that, you have to have enough self confidence to know you will give it your very best shot and succeed, remember failure is not something you should give a lot of thought to, but if you do, it is not a bad thing, it just adds to your experience. Children should never be the excuse, because I can tell you in all honesty, when is a good time with children !! We can always come up with reasons, school, college, university, uprooting there is never a perfect time, but you know if you are happy and you do well with your given opportunity, they are happy and feel secure, you set there well being. Change is good for everyone. It is amazing that when we have a vision of where we want to go and we are totally sure of this, things start to fall into place, even finances also appear, where you may of given up hope, your job is to be mind-set ready for your opportunity and be ready to act on it. Don’t let that train leave without you.

NEGLECT – Are you guilty of neglect, of yourself or maybe some one else, or something else. Do we focus so hard onto something that this creates a neglect on another situation. At times we tend to spin so many plates, men and women that some where, we neglect in an important area. From a male point of view, it maybe his career, the job totally takes over, and the family feel a sense of neglect. Only so many hours in a day right, this is a difficult one, because the career take over, is to provide a better future for the neglected family (this can equally apply to a female) however at times, when that moment arrives, there is no family to neglect. This neglect can be in many areas,

We could have a bad break up in a personal relationship

We could have had a long hard illness

We could have lost our job/s

We could be suffering depression/stress

We could be mourning a loved one

We could be stuck in a mid life crisis

We could be alone.

There are many reasons why neglect could knock on your door, so what do we do, first we have to admit to this little fall back,we do know, we know deep down inside us that things are not right, however to fix this you have to be on your own side, especially if you are neglecting yourself, this will have affected your self worth, your confidence, your interaction with others even down to your partner and children. You know you have to start to make changes, and this needs to be done in tiny steps, don’t try to change everything at the same time, as it will overwelm you and the job will be made more difficult. You are looking to find a natural balance back in your life, so routine and organisation is important here, you need to care for yourself both mentally and physically, you are worth this, and much more, if you have to much work, you need to list the pros and cons,and cut back where you can, maybe delegating could help take of a little pressure, whether this be in work or your home, sometimes the most smallest of changes can have a big impact. If your neglect is due to a break up, mourning,illness or even being alone, you need to accept this new situation, as I say many times you may not agree,but you can accept, when we accept this in our mind, we then start to process and introduce new things into our life, what has got you to wear you are now, belongs to the past and you cannot live there, you need to move forward and look into your future, Neglect can appear in many shapes and sizes, and I intend to go further into this subject in the near future. This is a preview for my A – Z Challenge. 

Mother – What could be more special than a Mother, the woman of many hats, some we like, some we don’t, but we never doubt our love for her. We all have or have had our ups and downs with these wonderful women, but as we age, and have children of our own, we maybe start to understand them a little more, its a difficult journey and there are things we will never understand, but we have to remember that each Mother is a generation apart and things certainly change along the way, you only have to find a topic and listen to a grandma, Mother and yourself to see how opinions change and can be extremley hard to be understood, this is where we are supposed to meet a compromise, that will need to come from us, the last generation.As the first and possibly the second, will not have the vision on life that we do……they have not had the independence we have been lucky to have or the knowledge and opportunity, just think the times we may disagree with our own children if that be the case, the one thing every generation does have in common is that generally we all want the best for our children, and for those of you with no children, will maybe feel this way towards your nephew niece or a child that you are very fond of, we watch for them and try to guide them in the best way possible, although this can very often fall on closed ears……but you know when we calm down and are honest, maybe we did the same. And even through all this, we still love our Mother, and sometimes find in later years that the role slightly reverses and we look out for them, this can be one of the most difficult jobs we ever take on, its delicate, emotions can run high, on both sides, as Mothers on occasions our help is rejected, as they do not wish to face this aspect of their life, or admit that they cannot do it without you,this is where we have to step up, and take care with nearly everything we say and do, we have to think before we act, this is added stress for us, we also have to cope with the emotion as seeing this woman who has guided you all your life, cannot forfill this role any longer, and this is difficult for us to understand, we do understand obviously, it is the law of life, but what we feel inside cannot be simply swept away. However, the most important thing is that they are loved or have been if sadly that is the case.There is a saying, that Mothers hold their childrens hands for a while, but their hearts forever, I believe this to be true, whatever our circumstances may be. Life is to short, to not share the love of your Mother, they are women who would walk on water for you if that was possible. I have a beautiful Spanish piece of writing, which I think could be perfect for this post:

Una Madre es una estrella fugaz, que pasa por tu vida una vez…………

Love her, for when the light goes out, she will never pass by again……..

I cannot think of anything more fitting than my M in my challenge to stand for Mother. And I hope you agree.
