Fleetwood Mac, yet another great classic, a rock band initially formed in London in 1967, they formed part of the boom of british blues in the late sixties and early seventies, however after many changes in 1974 the band moved to California and this is when Stevie Nicks incorporated into the band, here they started to change their style from blues into soft rock, they are still performing and are one of the top ten bands to have sold over 100 million copies of their albums, an outstanding band (in my humble opinion) great weekend music !

CHILDREN…………………………………..

Prize or punish ? This is probably the question you will ask yourself most over at least the next month, if you have children that is ? It’s holiday time, and usually we are tested to the limit…….. in every way possible, at times we are over the top and at other times we don’t quite cut it… can we learn to in force good conduct and teach good habits instead of bad ?
Do you feel guilty ? in the time that we are living, many of us work outside of our homes, both Mother and Father so we spend less time with our children than we ever have, and its also very possible that by the time we arrive home, the last thing we want to do is, is give orders or instructions regarding the cleaning and tidy up of the playroom/bedroom or lounge ! Have you finished your homework, eat all your meal etc etc., however being behind our children in this way, is part of our job to educate them in the correct manner. This takes time away from us, our sofa time,relax and can create many a confrontation with our children, but if we wish our children to grow in a healthy educated manner it is necessary for us to have these moments.

All at the right time, meaning prizes and punishment, all should be in proportion to the behaviour of the child. If a child is afraid of the dark and one evening goes to his room without a problem, this could be a good opportunity for a prize, not an expensive toy just a simple prize for his accomplishment. We have to have the quality of knowing the difference between an achievement and an obligation ? If we reward a child for having good notes at school and keeping good order in their room, this in fact is an obligation, but we should reward them with positive words to reinforce their attitude in these cases. A punishment when necessary should be something negative for a child, for example if the child is a poor eater, making them go to bed without their desert, will not really be negative ? and will not change a situation or their attitude towards the problem.
You have to take great care with the words that you use, never remove their motivation , the way we approach the child can make everything possible or the absolute opposite. Learn how to connect with positivity and empathy to the child, for example when a child learns to dress themselves it is important that you let them know how proud and pleased you are with them, it is important to use words like “I would like ” ” I feel like ” instead of “You have to ” which is said in an authoritative way and does not motivate the child. On a social level it is important that a child realises that the home belongs to you all and therefore should be cared for by everyone, which is why we all have little jobs to do and form a great family team.

As parents, the biggest job we have is not letting the child know, that what ever they do they are cute and amusing to us, we must all have had those times when they have performed in some spectacular way, but you have to keep your face straight with a look of “not amused”.These tiny little creatures that grow beyond belief are very clever and learn to read their parents very quickly, you have been warned, keep that guard up, they have to know when you say NO, you mean No and that enough is enough !! (been there, done that ) Being a parent is the most important job we will ever take on, it is the most difficult, but also the most rewarding, wishing you a great holiday time !!

UNWIND ………IT HELPS

The week-end is nearly here, and some of you will already be in panic mode as to how you are going to cope with everything you have to do, well you could make life easier and help yourself out here, take a pen and paper and in a calm fashion write down everything you would like to accomplish on Saturday or over the weekend in general, you don’t have to do this in one go, just have the paper around and when something comes into your mind pop it onto the list, I do this with my shopping list, I shop once a week, and as I go through the week I write my list, this way I find I don’t forget anything and I am calm going into and around the supermarket etc.,

When you make these kind of lists, you are saving yourself time and generally make your life easier, Have you ever just sat to write out your shopping list and your mind goes totally blank, you start to panic and everything follows suit, and even worse if you go shopping for food without your list, you will buy everything you don’t need and probably twice the shop!..
The same applies to week ends, have you ever got to a Sunday evening and you start to realise everything you did not do, “OH, I forgot to a b c !! now if you start your list earlier in the week and just know where you can always find it, and add as things come into your mind, I do love my lists, but they work so well for me, and I really do gain so much more time, and time is important to all of us.all you have to it is try it, you lose nothing, but could gain so much.

WHAT’S IN A HUG !…………………………
What doe’s a hug mean to you, there are so many different kinds and each one in its way has its message and meaning for you. The way we give our hugs can show our education and how we feel for other people it is shown because it is much stronger than words, and no two are the same.
When we receive or give a hug, it is one of the most comforting experiences we can have, we know and learn this from child birth, when babies are introduced to hugs from their very first moments, their development is full of hormones that are activated by our touch and hugs which encourage the development in the brain. Physical contact is important to us all.
As we grow into adults this contact is still needed, to give and to receive, it will help to rise our level of oxytocin the hormone associated with love and social relationships.

Are you a slow dancing hugger, this kind of hug is usually related to love relationships, one person will hug the other around the waist and the other around the neck, the couple will then move slowly together , this is a delicate and slow hug, as if no one else in the world existed, this type of hug is well-known in young people and at the beginning of relationships.

Then we have the flyer, this really is a hug associated with young love, full of passion and craziness, usually the female will suspend herself in the air with her legs around the waist of the male, these couples will have great emotional connection.
The eye to eye hug, is a soft hug with the eyes fixed on each other, this kind of hug expresses a special connection and a desire to learn more about the other person., you identify yourself with the other person and can look deep into their secret’s.

Caressing the back and shoulders, this hug is when both parties hug and rub the shoulders and back of the other, this hug is associated with a shared worry, and can show great confidence between them. It is known that the back is the most vulnerable spot of the human, we cannot see it and need the confidence to know you are protected, I would think that the saying “watching your back ” originates from this situation.
The orthopedic hug is known to them that really do not want to hug, but do so for appearances and obligation, they just wish to separate as soon as possible.

The wrap around super tight hug, usually around the neck area , this hug is full of passion but does transmit a fear of being abandoned or break up, the relationship can be very volcanic and also at times very solid. The couple will squeeze each other like a snake would and it seems they wish to eliminate the space that separates them and to become one, the love and sexual relationship here can give way to a storm of oxytocin and dopamine hormones in the brain which activates the system of compensation.A fear of losing this pleasant sensation, which at times is compared with addiction, which can cause the couple to cling to each other for the wrong reasons, the reason being desperation.
The most protective hug, which gives us a sense of security, is again a form of protecting the back, when one person approaches the other from the side and behind, linking an arm around the neck, protecting the back of the other with their body , this transmits that you wish to be caring and protecting them, when you approach in this way from the side and behind you are also showing a sincere and stable love.

We all deserve a hug, or lots of hugs everyday !!

MY SECRET LITTLE TIPS…………………
I am very fortunate in that for the last 20 years or so, I have hardly changed my weight or dress/trouser size, this is not a post regarding how perfect we should be, we just need to be happy and good with ourselves and above all healthy, because without that it really does not matter what shape or size we are, even when the cards are a little against us, we, are still responsable for how we feel and see ourselves.At times medication can put on a few extra pounds, but , you know, if you are aware of this and you are healthy, so what….if your attitude is in the right direction, you will be fine, what you tell yourself is very important, it is what makes you who you are, and how you portray yourself to others around you.
I don’t control what I eat, but I do try to eat in a sensible way, I don’t participate in junk food in any shape or form, I have a few little points which I thought I would share with you …………..

I try to eat a little at a time, but more often, I was told this years ago and it suits me fine.
Reduce your normal ration by about 25% (this way, you don’t have to watch what you eat so much, as the quantity)
Eat slowly, food needs to be savoured and enjoyed
Always try to eat in a pleasant place, where it is quiet and comfortable to you.
Never go shopping feeling hungry and if you can take a list, even better
Try to base your diet on vegetables
Eat various times a day, bread pasta and rice (brown)
Eat as much fruit as possible
Moderate drinking fruit juices, even home-made.
Try to have friends of a similar eating habit and pattern.

Replace fatty meats for vegetables, fish and white meats
If you have to pick in between meals, try to eat sensible things, pieces of fruit, dried fruit carrot stripes,
Drink milk that is semi.
Take little salt and food containing salt
Take little sugar and sugary food, watch out for drinks (I never drink anything with gas in general, very rare)
If you enjoy alcohol, try to have no more than 15 units a week
Enjoy all your little treats, but with moderation
Have an active life, include exercise where possible, a good walk on a regular basis is always good.

These are a few little things I like to acknowledge in my life, this does not mean that I don’t eat chocolate !! or other goodies, what I try to do is everything I do in my everyday life is in moderation, to me, that is the big secret, moderation with all you do, is always a wise choice.

YOUR DAY !
Do you ever have those few quiet moments in a morning, before you leave your bed to start your day, and think about how your day is going to be. Do you ever run through your day,visualising all aspects of your daily routine whether it be something new or an automatic pilot type of day, these are the one’s to pay special attention to, it is when things can escape us, when opportunities pass us by, we are so in to our daily routine we forget about the magic that can happen at any time, it is not only the moments that we semi-prepare ourselves for.

We already know that by visualising our day or a particular event, and if we pay special attention to detail, we can give a possible influence on how we wish things to go and the final outcome will rely itself.
However when we slip into what I call automatic pilot, “attention” this is when we could miss that magical moment we have requested and have been waiting for, it can be in a conversation, you are in or overhear, it can be action you need to take at that moment in your work in a relationship or even your intuition giving you signals that you choose to ignore because you are not switched on ! Intuition is something we should never ignore, that little inner voice should always be listened to, it is sending you instructions that we should follow, take that action and follow through.
Go through your day whenever possible prior to starting your daily routine, you may not have a lot of time, but just 5/10 mins can really change your day, this is when you also set your attitude for the day, you choose how you want to feel, step into your day with happiness and courage, knowing that you always want the utmost from your day with successful results, and do not allow anyone or any situation to change this, life happens and situations arise, this is when you must try with all your might to stay level-headed and remain in your state of happiness and success, I know it is hard, but it is essential if you wish to succeed and to keep your vibration to the universe at the level you need to communicate your desires. We cannot be happy all the time and under all situations but we can maintain an optimistic and open mind giving a favourable result and keep ourselves open and not close up when a problem arrives, think of a little snail, when he goes into his shell, he feels protected and safe, but he is stagnant, he cannot see to move, come out of your shell move forward feel confident in yourself, take action and make the most of all opportunities that come your way.
