OPERATION BIKINI !!……………………….

If you are like me, and in a country bursting at the seams for the summer to start, you will also be inundated with propaganda on the TV and magazines referring to your perfect figure for your beach days, so are you under pressure ?
It can be very confusing with all the information that is out there at the moment, I personally believe that eating good healthy food and in the right quantities are usually the best solution to any excess weight problem. If you are working out a diet plan don’t forget to include protein, which can be in the form of fish meat poultry milk eggs cheese beans bread pasta and rice, Fats in the form of butter, cheese vegetable oils, you always need a little fat when you have a diet plan as this will provide energy.Vitamins A B C D E & K are needed on a daily basis if you wish for good health, a good healthy diet contains fruit vegetables fish liver eggs meat and bread. Minerals are also needed on a daily basis especially iron and calcium, calcium can be found in milk cheese yogurt sardines salmon and green vegetables, iron is found in liver,lean meat eggs and dried fruit, and of course don’t forget fibre wholemeal bread porridge potato skins and green vegetables.

So what can the reasons be for weight gain ? there are many facts to take into consideration here, but one of course and possible the main one would be that we eat more than we need for the life we lead…..this does not been you are greedy and eat all day, we are all so different in shape and size and we all use up our food in different ways also. This is what we know as our metabolic rate, this can gallop away or can be really slow, so we need to eat less, it might make you angry but it is true, if this is your case you can’t help it but you can help to stabilize it. Of course the other big problem could be due to medical problems, glandular problems can cause overweight , water retention can be another reason especially in women, one of the little secrets here are not to be alarmed and don’t weigh yourself too often, your body can at times suddenly put on several pounds simply by what you have eaten but this disposes of it self just as quickly. A lot of people weigh more at the end of the day than at the beginning, just weigh yourself once a week as it can vary quite a lot. Some people say that carbohydrates rice pasta jams sugar cakes bread and potatoes can cause water retention but I cannot confirm this.

It is known that some people suffer from emotional hunger, this is people who eat when upset, worried or bored, it is a terrible problem to have, because to be able to rectify this you have to study yourself a little and watch and be prepared for when you trigger this, in order to stop before you start ! Not easy but can be done with persistent effort. One of the big things you need to avoid is the yo-yo effect, slimming down, bingeing out then fighting back the kilos, this is not good for your health or your emotional state.
To have a great summer, the most important thing is that you are happy at where you are at, we where not all born to be top models but we can all be happy, and this depends on you, feel comfortable in your own skin, take care of your health because without that, nothing is worth the effort, we need to be healthy and then be happy within our limits

DO YOU HAVE NATURAL CONTROL…….
Do you classify yourself as nervous, it is a question you should be asking yourself and something you should be answering truthfully for your own sake, you see, many people allow their nerves to rule and control their life, and this should not be allowed………….. it is purely a question of mind-set !
You may think that this statement is untrue, but I can assure you it is this way, when we learn the lesson of nothing gone can be changed, we are half way there……………..we can change how we react, and we can change how we want things to be, but we cannot change what has gone, the past is the past, and when we accept that, things can start to turn around for you.

When we place the same amount of energy into accepting that certain things and situations in our life cannot be changed, we start to look at things with a new perspective and our nervous system does not suffer as much as only focusing on the problem in itself. We are strong, all of us are strong, and we decide this, no one else, so why would you want to consider yourself weak ! We also all have problems through our life time, some bigger than others some more painful, problems can come in all shapes and sizes, and also some with more personal emotion than others, but what ever the situation or circumstances if they are out of your control, if you know no matter what you cannot change the result, it is important that you focus on how you are going to react, instead of the actual problem, how you react will give you the basic guide lines of your immediate future and emotional state to move forward.
Some people suffer from age, when they start to realise that things are not as they were, and that certain things cannot be done in the same way or even speed or strength than before, you know, if we wish to have a long life, we have to grow older and we have to accept that, some people find this very hard, what a waste of time and energy, while you are feeling so sorry for yourselves, you are missing out on all the exciting things that your new age and stage of life has to offer, and there are many, each stage of our life has magical moments, but you have to make a little effort to keep in the living game……………….
Remember it is you, that turns on that light and you that lites up your fire ! the first thing you need to do is explore new avenues open to you, if life was the same all the time, we really would get bored, finding new hobbies and time to enjoy your life is very important and is your job to develop these areas, there really is so much on offer in this wonderful world we live in.
Life goes on, no matter what happens in your interior world, we lose members of our family, our family situations change our financial situation also changes, but, we cannot resolve this by worrying 24/7 so, the sooner we adjust to these new circumstance the better it is for our health and general well-being, even our relationships are better, who wants to share space with someone who only knows how to complain about life, than be in it and enjoy it, we can’t bring a loved one back, we can’t grow our finance where there is nothing to sow, we can’t stop a tornado, hurricane earthquake, but we can always keep moving forward in some way and another, and also when you have these down moments there are others in a far worse situation than ourselves, always,no matter what the size of your future is, (or think at the moment)always be grateful for everything we have. We all have something to be grateful for ❤

Most of you know this is one of my favourite days, so let’s make it a Sunday full of love, why not, we all have lots of love to go around, we can love ourselves, that little bit more, that never goes a miss, the people around us, and we must never forget our furry little friends, our pets make up such a big part of our life, where would we be without them, I for one would be lost, my dogs are so a part of me, they are the most loyal companion you will ever have, they look at you, as if you could walk on water, they are totally devoted to us, and depend on us for everything, so an extra cuddle today, could and should be on the order of the day ❤

SUMMER & YOU …………………………………
When you think of the coming summer months (depending on where you are in the world) what comes to your mind ? Finally here in Spain the weather is starting to settle and the images and even smells of the summer are around every corner, and especially in the garden,
The urge to go down to the beach and walk along the promenade is really quite inviting, the warm sand under your feet and the fresh water rippling to the shore, even the med- water is still a little cool………………..the breeze on the coast is always different to that in land. It’s always interesting to watch the people stroll by and sit in groups chatting away, the summer is a whole different lifestyle, I think people even tend to laugh more, they are happier by far, the sunshine certainly cheers you up, although it can get very hot, it is better than having to walk head down, to keep the rain and wind out of your face.The summer also brings with it our change in clothes and are eating habits, we even usually sleep differently, no snuggling under the covers to keep warm, we look for beautiful shade and cool spots.

One of the main pleasures I really enjoy is eating outside, what can be better than dinning “Al Fresco” a pretty setting, in a lovely garden with all your favourite plates and glass ware, candles glowing and the light of a glowing flame within a garden torch,the right people, the right music and of course the right food, what more could we wish for, how I love the summer nights ❤

We all have our special corner or place, even our special restaurant, but there really is something very special about having people around for brunch, lunch or dinner……………..

Whatever your choice may be, enjoy your summer and the people you choose to place in it !

COORDINATION OF BODY & SOUL……
When you think of exercise, do you think of a gym and running your self silly, lets take a look at exercises you may never have tried. tai chi, qigong and yoga, stretch and meditation are all ways to improve your flexibility, to remain calm and to switch of an over-anxious mind.
You may have seen people on a film or in your local park, looking so graceful and floating from one position to another, slowly moving their hands and swaying participating in a session of tai chi, it is not difficult and neither does it take a long time, to look and enjoy the same positions and grace, this wonderful ancient chinese moving meditation helps you to breathe correctly using exercises especially for this and that are repetitive, they are slow movements, so you are not going to be working up a sweat or fighting for your breath, quite the opposite, you will feel totally in control, calm and at peace, a method that has been used in China in some form for thousands of years and is still extremely popular.

You may wonder if Tai Chi is really exercise, it is a low impact form of exercise which is for sure one of the best researched, it is not an exercise to burn calories, however it conditions the spine, legs and feet giving you more and more strength, helping your muscles to become longer and stronger. it will increase your energy by unblocking your energy pathways, it is said to have nine main benefits, including bone density, physical function, preventing falls, psychological benefits and immune function, the lymphatic system is within the gentle fluid movements, our primary system of immunity. It is also noted for reducing depression symptoms stress and anxiety.

Most of the movements are safe for most age groups and your level of experience. It’s all about being inline with where we are in life, and not fighting it, but accepting it and even celebrating it. All you need to enjoy this type of exercise is comfortable loose clothing, when indoors you can be bare-foot and be sure to be able to move freely.

The secret to any activity you choose to do is the feel good experience afterwards, if you sit and meditate and feel fantastic after, you are doing great, you just need to find something that takes you out of your normal day, dedicate that time to you, even if it is just 15 mins, if you get that little uplift after, you have found something that is good for you, let the mind drift and close of to the daily pressures we put ourselves under………..even if you walk around your garden, think how long it takes to swallow a tablet or drink a powder formula, you may feel great after that, because you allow your mind to accept this form of medication or vitamins, so this is the same, if you feel good do it !
