One interesting thing about greed is that although the underlying motive is to seek satisfaction , the irony is your desire, you are still not satisfied. The true antidote of greed is contentment. If you have a strong sense of contentment, it doesn’t matter whether you obtain the object or not: either way, you are still content.
The demarcation between a positive and a negative desire or action is not whether it gives you an immediate feeling of satisfaction but whether it ultimately results in positive or negative consequences.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has such a beautiful and crisp way of explaining the realities of life just the way they are. His words are always so full of compassion. Being content and alive always seems to be an essential foundation for a beautiful life
