Whenever you hear something new for the first time, how long do you remember it, maybe a telephone number, they say in goes into the memory maybe during a few seconds !! However if we do not use that telephone number frequently and within a short time of it originally going in, your brain will cancel it immediately. It does not want to fill your hand with unworthy information.
Experts say that we need at least 10 to 20 seconds of repetition or concentration for something to stick in our minds, less than this time it will just evaporate and disappear, this also happens with our positive emotions, our brain remembers them with difficulty, why, because we are programmed to survive, that’s why we remember better the negative things, because it think it helps us to survive better !
This is the reason why, we should do a special exercise, when we have a nice moment, a great moment that you have experienced, maybe like a great hug you have received from a loved one, think about it for more than 20 seconds and let it fill your whole body, “Your brain, programmed for survival, it is more interested in survival than your happiness, Train it to remember more the positive moments”
This is way, when we replace negative thoughts with positive one’s it has to be on repetition, again and again, for the brain to accept that positive thought, the same with affirmations, say them time and time again. Repetition is the key. Train your brain to take in what you want, not the other way round, it’s just a case of a new habit, repeat, repeat, repeat that’s all you have to do.
