TEARS – Ever had that feeling, when your lower lip starts to quiver, the more you try to stop it the quivering becomes more out of your control, or you blink and blink to try to stop the tears rolling down your face. Do you tend to cry easily ? When we talk about weddings, birthdays, your children’s school play, or do you belong to the group of people who don’t remember when you last cried ? Sometimes we are taken totally by surprise and the tears appear no matter what we do, but at times crying in front of people can be awkward for the person crying and those around,however people these days do seem a bit more comfortable with this emotion. So why do we cry ? It’s not as simple as being happy or sad, crying is a natural emotion when we respond to certain feelings, usually sadness and hurt, but others do cry for different reasons, it can be for a thing of beauty, a piece of music, they just melt and the guard is dropped and they tap into their inner-self. Crying does serve an emotional purpose, it’s a release, when we have a buildup of energy with feelings. It’s a signal, when we cry, we are being told that we need to address something, you could be frustrated, overwelmed by a situation or just trying to get someone’s attention, also it allows us to release stress hormones or even toxin from the body.
Women tend to cry more than men, but this is simply due to a lot of old beliefs, it’s now starting to change a little, but some men still see it as a sign of weekness. There is no specific reason why some cry more than others, although people with history of trauma , emotional pain, who tend to dwell on the past will generate more feelings of hurt and tend to cry more. However, as I say there are benefits to a good cry, you feel better after a good cry, however in some cases, not all, people with depression or anxiety can feel worse.

SUNSHINE – The sunlight of rays, warmth and light from the sun, a feeling of happiness. What is it about sunshine that puts that little happy step into our walk. When we wake and see those rays of sunshine, we can’t wait to jump out of bed, no need to snuggle down and take that extra ten mins before stepping out into the fresh morning air. The sunshine warms our homes, the garden springs into life, and we shed all those winter layers. And on top of that if you are someone’s sunshine, you make their world brighter, radiant, the air is full of cheerfulness, and we maybe all have little rays of sunshine in our life some where, happy little people who make others feel happy, especially in difficult situations, because they just shine and shine. Sunshine is a cute affectionate word to use to show our endearment and love to others, I have my little sunshine, do you ?
Now we all know about the warnings we are told about regarding the sun and it’s rays, but just recently there are numerous articles by professional offices, who are now giving recognition to the benefits of the sun, for example the Harvard School of Public Health have researched that frequent exposure to sunshine lowers rheumatoid arthritis risk, and is also linked to prevention of serveral serious diseases, from Type II diabetes to various types of cancer, they also state that older women who enjoy frequent exposure to sunlight throughout their life are less likely to develope rheumatoid arthritis.Sunshine is wonderful for vitamin D and a healthy dose of sunshine is vital for good health. It is believed “The sun – the giver of life on earth”
Sun screen – aside from containing many cancer-causing chemicals, alcohols, parabens and solvents – blocks Vitamin D production, Vitamin D deficiences are linked to osteoporosis, depression and autoimmune disorders, it is said that people especially young people who choose to totally block the sun, rather than embrace it, might suffer from the same in the long term. Warning people to avoid sunshine causes more harm than good, lack of sunshine is responsible for many diseases according to recent research. Vitamin A and D have proven as being a defense against deadly new tuberculosis strains. Adequate levels of Vitamin A & D is crucial for a healthy immune system.
I would like to point out that the above information is from an article issued by the Harvard School of Public Health. I personally do not have anything against the sunshine,but, I do think it is like anything else,if we take the sun in moderation, and if we apply a sun screen we should be very careful as to what could be in it, we should not assume that any sunscreen is good for us, as it is pointed our above.
Living in Spain, the sunshine is a big part of my life, but other hot countries like Spain, do not hold the highest in disease associated with sun rays.

ROMANCE – When we think of romance, what do we conjure up in our mind, passion, respect, love, flowers, chocolate, holding hands, excitement. Or could it be ardent, emotional attachment, involvement between two people, or the romantic heroic, pageantry and romantic exploits. A wonderful feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love.
The definition of romance is a language which originated from Latin. the languages of romance are known as Spanish, French, Italian and Romanian . Romantic is defined as something, such as an action or behaviour, that is done to woo a signicant other or to be a sign of love and affection.
True romance is doing something special or unexpected for someone you love, even though you don’t have to. Sadly I feel that each generation has lost a little of this good old fashioned romance, there is nothing nicer, for a door to be opened for you, a chair set aside for you in a restaurant, little things that not so long ago would never have gone a miss, and with certain generations still don’t, but in younger people you do see less and less, A lady should be treated as a lady, I do not find this the complete fault of the male population, maybe there is not so many ladies out there either ? Maybe I’m old fashioned but to respect the person you love should be a priority ……..And that the romance continue.
QUALITY – The quality of ourselves as people, the quality of an object, the quality of food etc., etc., Everbodies standard of quality is different,it can come down to a question of standards through our life time, or the personal choice of an individual or of a panel if we look at quality control. And hopefully pride in the quality of our work,if we strive to do our best, to us it will be of good quality. When we seek quality in this way it will show in everything we do, the way we present ourselves to the outside world, this has nothing to do with perfection or wealth, quality in ourselves, is to be proud of who we are and what we are doing, to know you have the quality to do what you are doing, what ever it may be, perfection or wealth will not give you that status. Wealth may give you material belongings and status in that sense of the word, but quality in what you do and are, cannot be bought and cannot be perfected. You can be perfect and even do perfect work, but that does not guarantee quality. Can you see the difference? Quality people can have a low income maybe unemployed or homeless, but their quality of human beings will shine through, the difference can be seen. When you observe people for their quality and not for what job they have or where they live, you will find that sadly society will lose the opportunity to know true quality people, due to judgement made simply on how people think they are, and do not take the time to find out more, everyone deserves an opportunity and we can be very pleasantly surprised if we make the effort to know quality people and have them in our life.
To have and acknowledge quality in our life, is a very rewarding feeling, always look for quality in yourself and others.

She really helped women to say bye bye to corsets and confining garments. Again the 1920’s Chanel designed (LBD) THE Little Black Dress, a colour at the time and some what today associated with mourning, and showed just how chic it could be for evening wear. And of course the famous string of various pearls. I personally love her quote that she stated after a wedding proposal by the Duke of Westminster, ” As far as I know there have been many Duchess’s of Westminster, but Coco Chanel there is only one” She did not accept, and although she received many proposals after this one, she never married .

Here is a little more information regarding the fascinating Coco Chanel. Once she had opened her first stores, which were very successful selling her hats, during the 1920’s she introduced her famous perfume, and later introduced her famous suits, still popular today, and of course the famous (LBD) Little Black Dress !!
Her clothing success came from a dress she fashioned out of an old jersey on a chilly day. She was known to say “My fortune is built on that old jersey that I’d put on because it was cold in Deauville” In the 1920’s Coco Chanel took her business to new heights, regarding her perfume she would say” Is the unseen, unforgetable,ultimate accessory of fashion….. that heralds your arrival and prolongs your departure”
