Friday 17th June 2016 – “Happy Party Day”
On living a Spiritual Life

Now the secret to my own happiness, my own good future, is within my own hands. I must not miss that opportunity.

Always be you, you are unique in every way and everything you do !

Today is a great day, this is my moment of happiness, we all have bad days and even bad times, which we feel will go on forever, and some well due pass there sell by date, but, never give up !! Happiness is on its way, if that is what you want, great things can happen, and sometimes it can be the smallest thing that turns things around for us, if that is what you want ? never give up, that last bit of hope, we are told to stay positive, to turn negative situations into positive one’s, this can be done, if that is what you want ? It really can, we are also told to take action, and many people take this as physical action, this does help, but action can also be your determination, yes your determination to make that change for you, for your loved one’s, whatever the reason the determination is what counts, never lose sight of your vision and your determination. The universe can deliver in many ways, at times it can be baby steps, that you maybe don’t even realise, but they are there, the universe will always work with you, it only works against you, when you work against yourself, remember like attracts like, good bad or indifferent! When you are happy, (like attracts like) will bring you more happiness, because that is what is in your thoughts, if you are sad, depressed etc., (like attracts like) the universe will bring you more, so eliminate those negative thoughts this very second, when we are deep in despair, you need to have your life jacket ready, know beforehand what truly brings a smile to your face, a happy sensation to your whole being and cling to it, as you would your life jacket… a happy memory, your child telling you something , as they only can, your pet welcoming you home, this can be a new or old memory, it just needs to be something that makes you feel good, the more you do this, a new habit will form.

We are all entitled to be happy, for whatever reason you want to give, but more so for yourself, when you are happy, the feeling you have is beyond words, you restore peace, balance, harmony in your life, and you function on a whole different level. It’s like having a cold or not, when do you feel better, without the cold right? when you are happy, you notice so much more around you, the blue sky, the sunlight even the rain feel’s different, you notice the flowers the beauty that is out there all for your pleasure, who want’s to live in a world of dark clouds full of a cold and not noticing anything that is beautiful, you choose, what ever your circumstances you are going through right now, so stop punishing yourself and blaming others, change your attitude, see the sunlight and feel good, none of those things cost money, if your problem is financial it is not going to get better, if you are not ready to receive anymore, because as you are, you will not see the moment when it comes. Be happy open your eyes, your heart, stick with your desire and determination and chose happiness. When you are happy your days become magical, things start to work your way, things start to happen for you, but with closed eyes and feeling miserable or sorry for yourself, you will see nothing, maybe not even what you are doing to yourself.

Choose to smile, choose to be happy, choose to create your happiness and live, everyday that you have, be grateful for your days and nights with your loved one’s and yourself, be grateful for being able to see all the wonderful things the universe provides and will provide for you, be grateful for every small detail of your life, and live a happy life !!
Although one’s experiences are a consequence of one’s past deeds, that does not mean that the individual has no choice or that there is no room for initiative to change… One should not become passive and try to excuse oneself from having to take personal initiative on the grounds that everything is a result of Karma, because if one understands the concept of Karma properly, one will understand that Karma means “action…” So what type of future will come about, to a large extent, lies within our own hands in the present. It will be determined by the kind of initiatives that we take now.
Investigators have found that even an artificially induced frown or smile tends to induce the corresponding emotions of anger or happiness; this suggests that just “going through the motions” and repeatedly engaging in a positive behaviour can eventually bring about genuine internal change.

Tai Chi, A gentle way to fight stress, an exercise of internal energy, another form of energy healing.
Tai Chi was originally a martial art, developed in the 13th century in China. Today it is a healthy exercise with many health benefits, different styles practised around the world, by any age group.
Any age group can participate in this wonderful activity, it can reduce stress, improve balance and general mobility, it also increase’s muscle strength in the legs – it also improves balance which can prevent silly falls. Tai Chi is known as a low impact exercise as it puts very little pressure on your bones or joints. This is why it is ideal for all ages, Tai Chi really is for everyone.

There are different types of Tai Chi, yang, chen and wu, a combination can be used, the difference lie’s in the speed of movement, and the way the body holds the postures.
Tai Chi is known for its slow, graceful movements, gentle on joints and muscles, the movements flow from one to another. Tai Chi is excellent for reducing stress and anxiety also increasing flexibility and balance. Tai Chi is like meditation in motion, involving the slow movements, a focused manner and deep breathing, it promotes serenity. The body is in constant motion, Tai Chi is different from Yoga.
Tai Chi is inexpensive, requires no special equipment, it can be done indoors and outside, alone or in a group. The movements in Tai Chi, have wonderful names, which help you to go from one step to the other, Calming the water, pushing the water, circle the globe, hands waving clouds, to name a few, and you will always close with Lotus flower closing, if you have never tried Tai Chi, I personally love it and I am sure you will to………..give it a try.

On Living a Spiritual Life.
If you understand spiritual practice in its true sense, then you can use all twenty-four hours of your day for your practice. True spirituality is a mental attitude that you can practise at any time.
Engaging in training or a method of bringing about inner discipline within one’s mind is the essence of a religious life, an inner discipline that has the purpose of cultivating these positive mental states. Thus, whether one leads a spiritual life depends on whether one has been successful in bringing about that disciplined, tamed state of mind and translating that state of mind into one’s daily actions.

Reiki, is a Japanese technique, created in 1922 by Japanese Buddhist Mikao Usui, it is used to reduce stress and induce relaxation that can provide healing. It is applied by “laying on hands” it is a spiritual healing made from two Japanese words, Rei and Ki. Rei- which means Universal life energy/God’s wisdom and the Higher power Ki-life force energy.
Reiki is a spiritual, vibrational healing practice used to promote balance throughout the human system. Reiki does not involve physical manipulation, it works with the vibration field thought to surround the body.

When you receive Reiki you can experience a sense of connection to your own innate spirituality. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind & spirit, creating effects such as relaxation, feeling of peace security and well-being.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use.
Mikao Usui, decided to add the Reiki ideals to the practice of Reiki. The ideals came in part from the five principles, their purpose is to help people realize that healing the spirit by consciously deciding to improve oneself is a necessary part of the Reiki healing experience. I would like to share these five principles with you.
These are the five Reiki Principles:
Just for today, I will not worry.
When we worry, we tend to forget the universal purpose in everything. If you are in tune with your higher self and live each day to the best of your ability, then you have done everything in your power and the rest is up to the wisdom of the universal life force.
Just for today, I will not be angry.
Anger, is a completely unnecessary emotion. Like most inappropriate reactive emotions, anger has its roots in the feeling of guilt from having separated ourselves from the Universal Consciousness. Anger is to desire control, which results from feeling out of control, indeed, out of synchronization with our divine life purpose.
Just for today, I will work hard.
Hard work here does not mean toiling away at a job for endless hours. This work is self work, the work of self exploration. This means devoting time to our own personal growth and healing journey. Practicing self-study, awareness and meditation allows us to be better live in the moment. When we are fully present, we resonate peace, love and healing to all we meet. We naturally live and channel Reiki from the inside out.
Just for today, I will give thanks for my many blessings.
To live in gratitude is to live in abundance. When we are constantly in an attitude of gratitude, feeling thankful not only for what we have received but for what we know and trust will constantly be provided, we begin to magnetically attract abundance.
Just for toady, I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.
Truly, we are all of one source. It is also clear that all forms of life are interdependent. Through the study of physics, we now know that we are all a collective energy from the same source. There is truly no solid matter, only different levels of vibration. All forms of matter vibrates at different energy levels, yet they are all interconnected because there are no solid barriers between them. Thus, when we accept all of the various aspects of ourselves, it affects all others. To show love and respect to all others and our earth is to love and respect ourselves.

On Living a Spiritual Life.
We often hear people say that all human beings are equal. By this we mean that everyone has the obvious desire of happiness. Everybody has the right to be a happy person. And everyone has the right to overcome suffering. So if someone is deriving happiness or benefit from a particular religious tradition, it becomes important to respect the rights of others; thus we must learn to respect all these major religious traditions. That is clear.
If we believe in any religion, that’s good. But even without a religious belief, we can still manage. In some cases, we can manage even better. But, then there’s another level of spirituality. That is what I call basic spirituality basic human qualities of goodness, kindness, compassion, caring. Whether we are believers or non-believers, this kind of spirituality is essential. I personally consider this second level of spirituality to be more important than the first, because no matter how wonderful a particular religion may be, it will only be accepted by a limited number of human beings, only a portion of humanity. But as long as we are human beings, as long as we are human beings, as long as we are members of the human family, all of us need these basic spiritual values. Without these, human existence remains hard, very dry. As a result, none of us can be a happy person, our whole family will suffer, and then, eventually, society will be more troubled. So, it becomes clear that cultivating these kinds of basic spiritual values becomes crucial.

And, here we are again, where does time go, its unbelievable how quickly the week flies by, so, how did your week go ? Did you manage to fit everything in you wanted to, did you manage to tick all the boxes on your list ? (probably not ! time escapes us all)
The big question is how are you going to spend your day today, with good thoughts I hope, maybe even a phone call to a loved one, they may be far away or just next door, but as I said yesterday, we all love to feel loved.
Whatever you choose to do, remember that today is Sunday, a day of rest, even if you have a Sunday list, cut the lawn, clean the pool, walk the dog, clean the car etc., remember to slow your normal speed down and turn that chore into an enjoyable one ! It’s not hard to do, just change your chip, happy attitude, happy job… it makes all the difference, to you and those sharing this day with you.
Today is the day you may want to take a nice stroll, one to one with nature is always relaxing, maybe visit the garden center, a walk in the forest and if weather permits a trip to the beach, or just maybe a lovely coffee in your favourite coffee shop, just watching the world go by, reading the sunday paper or simply enjoying a great book.
However you choose to spend today, be happy, love yourself and love others and love your Sunday…………….

It has been known for centuries that in Tibetan Buddhism, there believe is that birth is the first sign of death. A Buddhist is taught to cherish each and every moment we have, Do we really think or do this ? Maybe not as much as we should, we really do waste many moments in our life and that of others, they say to “Remember that the past is history, the future a mystery and today is a gift, that’s why it’s called the present” how true this is. When we lose someone, this is maybe when this phrase would strike home all to quickly, did we forgive, did we really try to understand them and maybe most importantly did we know them, or did we just scrape the surface. Anyone that means anything to you, should be worth all of these things, should we really wait till this happens, when it is too late to rectify anything,to late for that conversation or just to late for them to know that they were loved by you, this does not always need a conversation, many people cannot do this, but actions as you know speak louder than words, if you feel you are loved, your world is a nicer place to be.
Many friendships and families are torn apart, over, at the end of the day things that do not warrant this, no matter what it is, love is stronger than pride and bad thoughts, nobody who loves you, will want to hurt you, and if you have already lost someone you loved dearly, you will know that yesterday has gone, and nothing you can do will bring that person or that back. Live your life with love, for today, it truly is a gift, that we should treasure, tomorrow may be too late. A loving heart is a healthy heart, and it is stronger and bigger than you can imagine, open your heart while it is yours to open and others to receive.

Most worries are future based. They revolve around things that, in most cases, will never happen.
Concentrate on the present and the future will take care of itself.

The most important skill in staying calm is not to lose sleep over small issues. The second most important skill is to be able to view all issues as small issues.
_____________________________________________________________
Make a practice of looking for the best in people and situations. You’ll find that a simple approach induces optimism and positivity – both of which lead to calm.
______________________________________________________________
Leave it to others to be perfect, to be wonderful. Be content with what you are – you’ll be much more relaxed and calm as a result.
______________________________________________________________
Approach something with your full attention and an open mind, and you’ll find pleasure and complexity in it. A bunch of grapes, or a glass of water or a field of grass, or a sky of clouds. All of such things can lead to calm
______________________________________________________________
There is seldom any rational reason for having regrets about past deeds or events. Because the past does not exist in any way other than in your memory. When you recognise this lack of reality, you can be calm.
______________________________________________________________
It’s extremely important to investigate the causes or origins of suffering, how it arises. One must begin that process by appreciating the impermanent, transient nature of our existence. All things, events and phenomena are dynamic, changing every moment: nothing remains static.
The ability to look at events from different perspectives can be very helpful. Then, practising this, one can use certain experiences, certain tragedies to develop a calmness of mind. One must realise that every phenomenon, every event, has different aspects. Everything is of a relative nature.
