So, the Christmas holidays are over, some of you will feel great and ready to go others will feel tired out and just want to sleep and hide away for a little while, the festive season does not suit everyone like any other holiday, some just give us so much work we need triple holidays to recover.
Did you know that approx., one third of the populations suffer from stress, episodes that come and go throughout our life, our quality of life gives in to this, but, we can find ways to combat this and live a little more tranquil.
Stress can attack children and adults, it can be a silent attack, at certain times in our life or it can become a severe illness in our life. We can lose control of our life , if we let it, it can make our career unstable and our studies also. It can complicate all areas of our life, and seriously reduce the quality of our life.
Stress is a natural process within our body, it’s mission is to activate our instinct of survival. It is a human reaction threatening , but it is like fear .inicially it is a warning sign in a positive sense, if we don’t pay attention to this our emotional balance will be affected and we can have physical consequences.
So, what’s the best way to confront our stress, when it rears its ugly little head…. Our work place can be one of the strongest points for stress, we are competitive, responsable we give orders and work our nerves to a frazzle !! So you need to be able to work around all these things, within your work place and at home and socially, it is important to know how to work and react within an orderly fashion and be organised, we need to know how to distribute our time and to know how to rest when needed, you need to know your priorities and when things are not possible they are just not possible, no one ever said we had to do everything (that is a role we have taken on ourselves!!)
Remember to keep time back for yourself, you are important remember!! Learn how to relax, you can teach yourself, try to fit in a sports activity learn how to release that tension that builds up let it go along with any negative thoughts you have collected through the day, all this will help you to reduce your stress level.
If you suffer from stress, you will have tension in your muscles, cold hands or sweating palms, sleep difficulty, headaches, back and neck problems , indigestion. You will feel anxiety, irritability, fear general nervousness confusion and mood swings, you will find it difficult to concentrate and make decisions. You will find you have nervous laugh, you will be sharp with others, if you smoke you will maybe smoke more, or drink and drug yourself more!! You may eat less possible cry more and grind your teeth !! So if you have any of these signs, try to slow down, take note of a few things here and start to reduce your stress level, one step at a time ❤
