Illusion time, forget about making that target weight before you do anything, start to take action now and pay attention to how you dress and look, wearing the right clothes and knowing you look good, and being full of confidence go a long way to making you feel attractive.Do you know your problem areas, have you come to terms with them, if not it’s time you did, and start to concentrate on your good points, maybe you have fabulous hair, skin,or great smile, you will have many things going for you than you think, and good points are very much a part of you as well as the one imperfect feature you totally dwell on.
When you learn how to use your body language, it is amazing how different you will feel, when you feel bad about an area, you may well be sending out “keep away” signals through body language , such as hunched shoulders, hands dug deep into your pockets, or if you avert the look of someone by looking always towards the floor, not relaxed and in a nervous gesture, are signs you send out stating you do not want to be approached. Also a woman who dresses in a colourless and nondescript way is asking not to be noticed.
Do you hide something about yourself, you would be a very unusual person if you felt everything about you was perfect. You know if super stars and top models have hang ups about small eyes, crooked mouths thin hair and lots of other little things that you would probably never notice, the first big thing with hiding something is to not mention it to everyone, if you do complain all around you about your so-called problem you are drawing attention to it yourself, things that other wise will not be noticed by anyone. So if you are not entirely happy for example with your neck, draw attention away from it by emphasizing a good waistline or legs.
Camouflage small problems then forget about them. cover the odd spot with concealer cream, remember always choose a shade that matches your skin, and blend it in well with your foundation, you can cover spots, little red veins, dark circles , even some scars can be covered with concealer cream, freckles and moles can also be toned down with foundation and powder, or of course you can turn it around and make a fabulous beauty spot out of it, leave the freckles and emphasize your eyes.
When it comes to camouflage with clothes, think about it, if you are short-waisted wear dresses and non waisted garments as much as possible, if wearing separates choose a belt that tones with your top rather than your skirt or trousers this way you will give the illusion of a lower waistline, the golden rule is to never wear loose top and bottom at the same time, otherwise the effect isn’t beautifully casual, just baggy. To elongate your outline by never having hard horizontal breaks, go for long lines everywhere. When you wear trousers and the same colour boot, you will give a long lovely leg line, on the other hand trousers tucked into contrasting boots will make your legs seem shorter. When you use colours and play with them in a clever way you can make the illusion work for you, pale colours tend to enlarge, dark colours diminish, for example if you have large hips, wear dark coloured skirts or trousers, if you have a large bust and small hips, place the dark colour at the top, contrasting colours shorten the body, and a small person is better choosing a top and bottom in the same shade. Gentle waist pleats are much kinder to a flabby tummy than a plain front or front pockets,
The secret is to keep it simple, when buying a suit, choose a firm light fabric (tweeds, checks etc can look very lumpy) with lapels and single button, if you are short, don’t wear an over long jacket, it will make you seem smaller.
Create your own illusion, create and live your own special beauty.

I agree totally. I have gained weight and have been unhappy about that fact. I have, of course, dieted and lost weight but it’s a yo-yo. I finally decided to just love myself the way I am. I bought larger clothes that fit well and were stylish and I feel better than ever. I am trying to make better choices with food and beginning simple exercises, but most importantly I embrace myself for where I’m at with my weight at this time. I love the quote about energy is our currency and how important it is what we give out to the universe. I believe our beauty truly is internal but our world just happens to think differently.
