storm 2

It is one of my favourite days today, we had a terrific storm during the night, the thunder could be heard as it rumbled around the sky and the lighting lit up the land, as if it was day light. The rain started to fall and we had a true mediterranean storm, it went on through the night and has not left us yet, the thunder and lighting has ceased for a while, but the dark clouds are still there, the odd rumble of thunder can be heard in the distance, it really is beautiful to feel fresh and enjoy the atmosphere that rain leaves after so many days of hot sunshine,it is a perfect morning for sitting quiet or working a little, like I am now, sitting near the window feeling the cool breeze enter in, the greenery is vibrant and the smell of fresh rain is some how soothing.Β

storm 3

I suppose if you live in a country where you have your fair share of rain, you may feel I am a little crazy, but to see and feel the rain when we have had 40 degrees for the last two months more or less is really a lovely sight and relieve. And my daily job of watering can be taken from my list today, (however the grass will grow slightly quicker) but we can’t have it all ways can we, the other wonderful guarantee is that although the sun will return, and it will, that fierce 40 degrees it will not be, it is still great beach weather, but more enjoyable !!

  1. Completely agree with you Brooke. It totally lifts my mood too. I feel when it rains, all of a sudden no problem seems to be big enough to change my state of mind. It’s as if nothing is big enough to upset me and everything bad just bounces off and away from me. Haha. πŸ™‚ enjoy the rains

  2. When I was growing up in Scotland, people used to say “the rain in Spain stays mainly on the plane”. It just shows you though, it’s not true!
Great post, enjoy the rest of the rain πŸ™‚
