Do you know that if you are active, rest well, set yourself little goals daily , you are giving yourself extra years and well-being ? 

Our brain is a muscle like any other and if we don’t use it, it will seize up ! it will lose strength and agility and can create a serious  illness. However we still dont really think about looking after it, like we would the heart, lungs liver etc., Brain health is something we should really be getting into before it is too late, a healthy brain will give us a good memory and quick reaction to go into action., it also gives us happiness and well-being. 

It is known that if we give this attention and care for our brain as we should, we extend our life not only in years but also in health and can help prevent a possible stroke or Alzheimer’s. It also can help with depression and anxiety, the more emotionally stable we are the better we cope. So how do we give ourselves this care, there are five areas where care can be given, in fact it only depends on you…………

When we keep ourselves on the move, this helps, sitting all day or for long periods of time is not good, as we move, we give ourselves oxygen which is an important part of our health plan, and helps our brain from ageing. Our brain functions with thanks to the oxygen that the blood takes to every wrinkle and fold of all our organs, which is why we also care for our heart and arteries, by doing exercise, which helps to generate neurotransmitters which help with our learning system

We need to eat correctly, proteins help to develop new connections which permit us to learn and remember. Vitamins from fruit and vegetables help to create neurotransmitters, which is attached to the sensations of pleasure well-being and happiness. Carbohydrates and sugar give us the energy that our brain needs to work, and the good fats help our nervous impulses allowing us to think more quickly.

Dont waste your sleeping time, it is necessary for us to function well during the day. Whats more what we learn and experience uses the night-time to sit well in our memory . Also during our sleep period our brain goes through a detox period of substances accumulated within our brain. 

Always try to give your brain a breather, stress can be a big cause of aging within our brain and can raise the risk of a stroke, Alzheimer etc., Many people are not aware that stress can create a block for learning and your memory. 

Never forget to stimulate the brain, try to learn new things always, it can be a language, a new game, crosswords and socialize as much as possible , keep your brain active in areas of comprehension, concentration, visual interpretation and decision-making. 

Remember that when you are keeping your brain active, it is important to do things that you enjoy and keep you happy, happiness is very important for your well-being and your brain.
