Obligation – Something by which a person is bound or obliged to do certain things, and which arises out of a sense of duty or results from custom, law etc., A duty or commitment.

A social, legal or moral requirement such as a duty, contract or promise that compels one to follow or avoid a particular course of action. Bond on moral duty (whether of necessity of one’s own choosing) that tie’s two or more parties together.

Obligation – As a mother, father, sister, brother, grandparent, wife, husband, son, daughter, employee, employer and everyday citizen, BUT do you see yourself on this list, as a person in body and soul just you, without an added title… you should be number 1, because to be any of the above, your obligation to yourself sets the key to all the rest. Unfortunately while dealing with the tasks of the above, we totally forget ourselves, in many ways, we get bogged down being great for everyone else.

When we with hold the same obligation to ourselves, respect, wellbeing, cared for we become a better version of ourselves, we are healthier, more understanding and considerate, as we live it in the first person. If you do not hold this obligation for yourself, who will ? At times we cannot explain why we do things, but just feel that we have to,this is an obligation that you really do not want, we can never avoid some obligation’s whether we want them or not, but certainly feel compelled to do them. I know you will know which these are, but lets get back to ourselves, the obligation we have for ourselves is to always do the best we can for ourselves, however, on many occasions we tend to put our own needs on the back burner, due to obligations we feel are more pressing, this is not right, your first obligation lies with you, you are not second to anyone or anything, this is not being selfish, it is consideration to yourself, it is the love you feel within for yourself, how you absorb knowledge on a daily basis, and grow on a continual day to day learning curve, whether it be academic or everyday life experiences, without this we have nothing to pass on to the people who surround us, people who maybe need our obligation to them and also need to grow within their own right and see their obligations in the right way. We all have obligations, we cannot get away from that fact, but when we really understand an obligation they can be a little easier to carry, first start with yourself and work from the inside out.
