You really have to know what to do, when you are in an interview for that job you so badly want, here are 6 tips of things you should never do, if you don’t want them to close the door on you !

1. When asked how,why reason etc., that you left your last employment or what kind of relationship you have with your past employers, don’t become nervous, they can be pretty average asked questions, it is wise to be truthful but do not go into over detail, as it could go against you and never speak badly (no matter what) about your past employer or employment.

2. Never arrive late or to early for your interview, when you arrive to early, it can some times create the opposite effect you were trying for,they will probably be engaged in other duties and may feel they have to cut it short. If you know you are going to be late, which is never good,(but things happen) always make sure you advise.

3. Do not improvise, you must have it very clear what you want and the job description, if you are unsure, it will be impossible to show you that you are confident and clearly can defend the position. Always go well prepared with the questions you would like to ask, and prepare any work that you think could be valuable to your application. 

4. Always try to find out as much information as you can regarding the place of employment, at times it is not your CV that is wrong, at times it can be the perfil of the company. The more knowledge you have about your possible employers the better, how they treat their staff and how they are valued is very important for you to know, how they are known within the industry and their general public face and popularity. Obtain as much inside information as possible, hours flexibility etc., 

5. Know your CV especially if it is long, you must spend time to study this, there is nothing worse than stumbling on dates, companies etc in front of your new possible employer, if you don’t know your history, why should they.. take care with this, you are actually showing your future employer a lot about yourself. 

6. The salary is important, but not the most, and you should not let the employer think that this is your only concern. At times the employer will hold back on this until they feel it is the perfect candidate in front of them. Until you know the exact responsibilities of the job at hand and what is expected from you, don’t go to much into this subject. It’s important, but so are you and your time. 

Remember to keep calm, your own self-confidence is very important on this day(and always) you are projecting yourself, and if responsibility is involved in this work, who would want to give someone a responsibility in their company, to someone with no confidence in themselves. You need to express yourself well, to show case your strong points and what you wish them to know. Also don’t forget your dress code, you are your business card, you are the whole package, and people do make judgement at first sight, hence the expression, the first impression always counts. Take time, prepare your outfit, the same way as you prepare yourself, with love and care.
