If you are thinking of having friends round this weekend, maybe these table hints can help, just thought something different would make a nice change.

table tip

Nice warm rolls, To warm bread rolls put them in a dampened paper bag and place in a hot oven for five minutes.

Keep them cool, Chill serving dishes, plates and bowls thoroughly at least one hour before serving any chilled or iced food, and in the hot weather chill bowls for salads and jugs for cold drinks.

Tuck it in, Tuck greaseproof  paper over moist food to keep it warm or hot.

Make them hot, Serve hot food on a warmed dish and heat the plates. This can be done in a warm oven, on a rack above the stove or over a pan of boiling water.

Either very hot or very cold, Cold soup is unpleasant to eat, serve chilled soups well iced and hot soups very hot.

A question of size, It is important to choose the right sized dish for the food being served, if too small, food will spill over as the first portion is being taken out and if too large it is out of proportion, making quantities look mean.

Taste first, Always taste food and correct th seasoning if necessary before serving.
