The key of happiness………….if you live with illusion, the next part of your life is like a new adventure…….

Going through the motions of 30, 40, 50 and 60, gets a lot easier when we realise the these numbers add up and are not taken away, many of us like to go back in the time machine, to our first “I love you” to our babies “first word” but, how would you feel, if every time you went on your trip down memory lane, what you have learned in the years, could not go with you ?
Count your age by friends not years, count your life by smiles, not tears, this was once said by John Lennon. It is a known fact that the age crisis is affected by only one in ten people, however birthdays and passing from one decade to the next affects nearly all of us ? especially in our state of vulnerability and in men mainly their loss of self-esteem and confidence, they try to keep the clock hands in the same place, this is a lost battle before we start, it is better to convert this energy into confronting the changes which each new stage brings us in a positive form.
This is a point where we must let go of ” Oh, I can’t do that now ” “I’ve done all this before” We need to take balance, the problem at times arises when we realise we are half way through and we are not where we want to be or achieved what we want. We start to reflect and want to reach the goals we have set, not 15 years ago, what we want now, as things change as we go through life, don’t worry about what you have not done, concentrate on what you can do and what is to come. There are no stereotypes, don’t try to be what people want you to be or that you think you should be, be who you are, be yourself, it was once said, “Beauty does not consist in covering flaws, it helps you to accept the pass of time”There is art in growing old, the art of conserving hope, feeling motivation and illusion for the projects you have in your mind, this will bring you into the present and you will see everything you have to live for and to experiment with, instead of just visiting the past. It is always important to remember not to focus on those numbers, they only make you feel older, and you know numbers are just numbers.

This was a beautiful post. Finally realized this for the very first time this last birthday. Birthdays are just days not ending. I love reading what you write.

I strive to practice selective amnesia when it comes to age. I choose to remember what will help me most now and in the future.
